Last week, we reported that Whoopi Goldberg had found herself in hot water for making more “offensive” comments about the Holocaust and once again suggesting that it was not originally about race. Now, sources are alleging that ABC executives are begging Goldberg to quit her role as the moderator on “The View,” which she’s been on for 15 years.

ABC Executives ‘Begging’ Goldberg To Quit

A source alleged to Radar Online that ABC executives have “grown tired of Whoopi’s constant on-air episodes and believe they are driving viewers away.”

“Whoopi seems to be picking fights all the time. She makes things very toxic,” the source added. “It’s clear she’s very unhappy. Everyone’s begging her to step aside for her sake and the sake of the show.”

The insider went on to claim that Goldberg, 67, has been struggling with her physical health because of work stress.

“Her health has been suffering, and she always seems to be ready for a brawl,” the source alleged. “It’s at the point where the constant fighting is literally killing her.”

Backstory: Whoopi Goldberg Doubles Down On Claim That Holocaust Wasn’t About Race

Goldberg’s Holocaust Comments

Goldberg was suspended from “The View” for two weeks last year after she claimed that the Holocaust was “not about race.” Though she later backtracked and apologized for saying this, she doubled down in an interview with The Times of London last month, leading to calls for ABC to fire her for anti-semitism.

“My best friend said, ‘Not for nothing is there no box on the census for the Jewish race. So that leads me to believe that we’re probably not a race,” Goldberg said in her latest interview.

“Remember who they were killing first. They were not killing racial; they were killing physical,” she continued. “They were killing people they considered to be mentally defective. And then they made this decision.”

Goldberg has since issued another groveling apology, telling The Hollywood Reporter that her recent comments were an attempt to “convey to the reporter what I had said and why, and attempted to recount that time,” referring to the initial remarks that got her suspended earlier this year.

“It was never my intention to appear as if I was doubling down on hurtful comments,” she added. “I believe that the Holocaust was about race, and I am still as sorry now as I was then that I upset, hurt, and angered people.

“My sincere apologies again, especially to everyone who thought this was a fresh rehash of the subject. I promise it was not,” Goldberg said. “In this time of rising antisemitism, I want to be very clear when I say that I always stood with the Jewish people and always will. My support for them has not wavered and never will.”

ADL Chief Slams Goldberg

After her latest Holocaust comments,  Anti-Defamation League CEO Jonathan Greenblatt fired back at Goldberg by saying that her words were “deeply offensive and incredibly ignorant.”

“Additionally, Whoopi’s comments show a complete lack of awareness of the multiethnic, multiracial makeup of the Jewish community,” he said. “She needs to apologize immediately and actually commit to educating herself on the true nature of #antisemitism.”

ABC has yet to publicly comment on Goldberg’s latest remarks. It remains to be seen if the network will take a stand against anti-semitism by firing her.
