Tim Allen Pays Touching Tribute To Kirstie Alley – ‘She Was Amazing’

The world is still in mourning after the death of the former “Cheers” star Kirstie Alley, who passed away suddenly on Monday at the age of 71 following a short and private battle with colon cancer. The former “Home Improvement” star Tim Allen has since spoken out to pay tribute to Alley in a way that is nothing short of touching.

Allen Pays Tribute To Alley

Allen, 69, told Fox News that he was “so sad” to hear of the death of his “For Richer or Poorer” co-star.

“I wish I could accentuate how independent her thought was and how beautiful her thought was and how organic her thought was in her heart,” he said. “It’s difficult, and she never put that on another person.”

“Of course she liked people that disagreed with her, and she said that and how important it was to have other people – it’s confusing when you hear the word tolerant and then you get attacked,” he continued.

Like Allen, Alley was long one of the only openly conservative voices in Hollywood, and she opened up about what this was like in an interview with Tucker Carlson last year.

“People go, ‘You’re so brave.’ I go, ‘No, I think I’m stupid,’” she said. “Because honestly, it is a real situation. And it is a real blackballing situation. And it’s so strange to me because artists are free-thinkers for the most part.”

“You can be cooking meth and sleeping with hookers but as long as, apparently, you didn’t vote for Trump,” she added. “I feel like I’m in the ‘Twilight Zone’ a bit with the whole concept of it.”

Allen Calls Alley ‘Brilliant’

In his tribute to Alley, Allen described her as “brilliant.”

“She put it, so much better than I can, just brilliant,” he said. “‘Of course, I care about the environment. Of course I care about people’s rights and all this.'”

“‘Of course I do. And I love other people’s opinions.’ And that she just kept saying that,” he continued. “And it points to people that attack you and call themselves tolerant. You can’t do both of those. It gets very confusing for somebody who loves – I love other people’s opinions. I’m around a lot of different opinions.”

“It doesn’t make much sense,” Allen concluded. “And I’m not sure if we’re talking about the same word because I love other people’s opinions. And she was like that. She was amazing, like that way.”

Alley Passes Away

The world was stunned on Monday night when Alley’s two children announced that she had died of a cancer that was only “recently discovered,” and her rep later confirmed that it was colon cancer.

“She was surrounded by her closest family and fought with great strength, leaving us with a certainty of her neverending joy of living and whatever adventures lie ahead,” her children said. “As iconic as she was on screen, she was an even more amazing mother and grandmother.”

They went on to say that Alley’s “zest and passion for life, her children, grandchildren and her many animals, not to mention her eternal joy of creating, were unparalleled and leave us inspired to live life to the fullest just as she did.”

Given the fact that Alley and Allen have been two of the only openly conservative stars in Hollywood for decades, it’s not surprising that they were close friends. We will continue to pray for Alley’s family and friends during this extremely difficult time.

James Conrad

James Conrad’s passion for politics is only overshadowed by his longstanding interest in Hollywood. His unique perspective as a gay conservative fuels him to challenge celebrity views and those who think they have a right to tell anyone how to think or vote. James proudly wields his minority point of view to combat identity politics and cut through his typecast. Fun fact: James’ guilty pleasure is the British royal family.
