PFL Making Case For Best Group Of Female Fighters

The PFL is loading up the women’s divisions.

One of the latest came in the form of former UFC contender Aspen Ladd.

Ladd signed a multi-year deal with the PFL and will likely make her debut next year when the 2023 season begins. And you can bet she is ready for that.

“I want to thank the Professional Fighters League for giving me the opportunity to continue my career in the PFL SmartCage,” Ladd said. “I am excited about the PFL’s sport season format where you win and advance based on talent and merit. I look forward to testing myself against the best women in the world.”

Ladd is 9-3 overall including fight-night bonuses over Tonya Evinger and Sijara Eubanks. She opened her mixed martial arts career winning eight consecutive fights, highlighted by a 2018 finish of Evinger – a former Invicta FC champion – at UFC 229.

In 2019, Ladd stopped Yana Kunitskaya, also a former Invicta FC titleholder, 33 seconds into the start of the third round.

Of her nine career wins, six have been knockouts and another by submission. Needless to say, the PFL knows they are getting a finisher in Ladd.

And that could really come into play.

With a season-long format, the PFL rewards fighters for earning finishes. The more finishes and wins, the more points. And thus, the higher standing you have to advance.

The MMAGold-trained fighter will look to do just that and earn a world title and $1 million payday next year.

“The Professional Fighters League continues to grow its global talent roster by seeking the best talent from around the globe,” said President of Fighter Operations, Ray Sefo. “We are excited to welcome Aspen to the PFL’s women’s division. Aspen will continue the PFL mission of bringing women’s MMA to the forefront of our sport.”
