Stacy Keibler was going to be in Playboy, but someone convinced her to pass. Also, Tony Khan says fans see similarities in him and Paul Heyman.

Stacy Keibler Told Not To Do Playboy

WWE superstars appearing in Playboy is nothing new. Playboy wanted Sunny at first, but she passed.

Then, Sable appeared and almost yearly a new WWE name would appear. Those included Torrie Wilson, Christy Hemme, Maria Kanellis, Ashley Massaro and Candice Michelle.

One person who did not appear was Stacy Keibler. She was offered the spot and thought about, but Eric Bischoff talked her out of it.

During his 83 Weeks podcast, Bischoff went over their conversation.

“Stacy [Keibler] came to me, and she wanted my opinion,” said Bischoff. “I was like, Okay, how’s your dad gonna to handle it?”

“It ain’t gonna bother you at all, but how’s your dad gonna handle it because he still goes to work every day.”

“And then she went, ‘oh yeah, you’re right.’ That was the end of it.”

“What was I supposed to say, ‘sure baby, I can’t wait to get a look at those legs!’”

Nowadays, WWE has shifted away from working with Playboy because of their TV rating. No word if Tony Khan would let his talent appear.

There is no denying Tony Khan has a passion for pro wrestling. He has gone above what is expected to keep AEW from doing so well the past few years.

He is not like Vince McMahon and the same can be said about Eric Bischoff. Although, Khan stated on Busted Open Radio that fans see similarities between himself and Paul Heyman.

“I have people come up to me and say, as far as being a fan who was around pro wrestling and wrestlers for a long time and then jumped into the business, the person I think I get compared to most is Paul Heyman,” said Khan. “I grew up on that ECW stuff.”

“Our products are different, he’s a genius and I’m not trying to compare the mindset at all. But, as far as trying to keep your finger on the pulse of fans, during a commercial break, even going out and talking to fans and trying to keep them excited during the show, it means a lot to me.”

“I’ve gotten to learn a lot from a lot of people in the wrestling business without having that official apprenticeship. I love the business so much.”

Khan seems like a great boss, but he must remember this is a business. If he lets wrestlers walk over him, then we get a repeat of ECW and WCW folding.

Heyman is one of those rare entities that comes around every decade. He knows the business better than most because he can connect to the fans.

Everyone has to know Khan’s comment is going to get mostly negative responses.
