So, WWE WrestleMania Backlash is over and now we get to the important report card. Basically, let us see how the grades went compared to WrestleMania 38’s night one and two.
MVP deserves credit as Bobby Lashley needed him as a heel mouthpiece to became WWE Champion. Meanwhile, he now finds himself trying to make the massive Omas a somewhat an attraction.
Truly, Lashley made Omos look decent. As expected, MVP played a deciding factor in Omas scoring the victory.
So, it keeps the feud going for at least one more match. The takeaways, MVP was a a great addition and Omas looked better than their first encounter. Grade: C
No matter what, WWE seems continent with keeping Happy Corbin heel. He has been one all of NXT and the main roster run.
I like Madcap Moss since he was repackaged. He seems to have the look, power and energy WWE wants in a superstar.
Noting special in the match. Also, little stood out from either superstar, so no statement was made. Grade: B-
For most of the show’s build, The Usos vs RK-Bro was featured, where winner takes both tag titles. Instead, last minute, we got a six person tag match with Roman Reigns and Drew McIntyre added.
It would only make sense if it led to McIntyre against Reigns at a stadium show in England. That should sell an insane amount of tickets.
So, as for the WrestleMania Backlash main event, it would have fit on an above-decent episode to close SmackDown. Grade: A-
Third match into the card and it is a rematch from WrestleMania. This time, no Damian Priest at ringside, but do not trust this new Edge.
Tough to wrong with AJ Style against Edge. They are two great talents that thankfully were able to share the ring together.
Rhea Ripley joined Edge’s stable, makes the storyline even more interesting. Finn Balor is now involved, therefore the feud is probable far from over. Grade: A-
During both nights of WrestleMania 38, a strong case cam be made Cody Rhodes vs Seth Rollins stole the show. Truly, it was a masterpiece and likely not to be topped.
Both have the talent, so the opportunity does exist. This time, they went for less hitting jaw-dropping spots.
Rollins is now 0-2 against Rhodes and his character needs a change. Rhodes moves another closer to the top of the title picture. Grade: A-
Their first meeting year ago at Survivor Series was spectacular. But, their WrestleMania match did not meet the same expectations.
Just a good fight around the arena with weapons and parts of the arena used. If anyone lost respect for Rousey or Fair recently, that is out the window.
Flair had no chance of winning. WWE, or Rousey, would ever allow her character to tap. Grade: A-
