Chris Jericho wanted a stable with Eddie Kingston and Jon Moxley, but AEW passed. Also, the WWE brand split does not appear to be ending.

Chris Jericho Pitched Huge AEW Stable

The Eddie Kingston – Chris Jericho angle on TV has evolved into more than a feud. Despite wrestling, the two are far from done.

Now, the Inner Circle is no more and Jericho has a new stable. Kingston now has Santana and Ortiz, who were part of the previous mentioned group.

When all this started, Jericho admits he did not see the angle going this direction. In fact, he had envisioned himself with a totally different set of wrestlers.

“I’d love to be able to tell you that I had this big overarching plan that was put into place in November when we started doing this thing with Eddie Kingston,” said Jericho on Busted Open Radio. “It wasn’t.”

“It was just reading the room and evolving. My original idea was for maybe, Eddie, and [Jon] Moxley to be an alliance as babyfaces. I never really thought about turning heel.”

“I always had this real romantic idea of never breaking up the Inner Circle and having us be together until the end. Once we started rolling and moving, I realized there was a lot we could do with it.”

Moment Chris Jericho Knew AEW Needed To Change Plans

“When we were in Bridgeport, Connecticut, we had a promo and Eddie came out there and was like, ‘I don’t know why I’m out here. This is pro wrestling, not sports entertainment, if you want that, go down the block.’”

“People just responded with a huge half cheer, half boo disdain for ‘sports entertainment.’ I was like, ‘Oh, oh, our fanbase doesn’t like that term. Interesting.’”

“Then the wheels go into motion and you start thinking of ‘maybe we can do something like this.’ The sports entertainment thing came from listening to the fans and realizing, they don’t like this, I do.”

“I’m a sports entertainer at heart. Let’s talk about it and make it a thing on screen, and that’s what we did.”

The Jericho – Kingston feud has been a great program from the start. There one feud has changed the course for several wrestlers.

In closing, it shows that AEW listens to their fans.

With the Royal Rumble and WrestleMania 38 out of the way, things are settling in WWE. During that time, a number of superstars worked RAW and SmackDown.

Naturally, this has people wondering if the band split will end. The Wrestling Observer noted that WWE does not have any intention of merging the brands.

Although, it does seem like they are headed in such a direction. Roman Reigns is in possession of the WWE Championship and Universal Championship.

Now, The Usos and RK-Bro are set to battle at WrestleMania Backlash. The winners will take home both set of tag team titles.

Perhaps, WWE is trying to strengthen the Bloodline. They have plenty of gold, but a little more could not hurt.
