Sadly, Brock Lesnar was unsuccessful in defeating Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 38. He lost the match and the chance to be the first Undisputed WWE Universal Champion. Now, his name has also been pulled from a huge pay-per-view (PPV) event.

Brock Lesnar Pulled From Event

Earlier in 2022, Brock Lesnar was advertised for WM Backlash and the Money in the Bank (MITB) event when these two PPVs were announced. After losing his bout at WM 38, he was still being advertised for both.

WWE recently updated their “Events” listing page. Upon reviewing WrestleMania Backlash, Lesnar’s name was removed.

The Dunkin’ Donuts Center’s website, where the event is being held, still has a Backlash graphic with Lesnar on it, while the WWE website has pulled Brock’s name. It’s important to note that the Dunkin’ Donuts Center’s site is likely outdated.

As of this writing, WWE only has Lesnar still advertised for the MITB Premium Live Event. It is scheduled for Saturday, July 2nd, taking place in Las Vegas at the Allegiant Stadium.

More On Brock Lesnar Being Pulled From The WWE Backlash Event

No information on future WWE plans for Brock, or if he’ll get a rematch with Roman Reigns. There was a report some months back saying there would be matches between the two that ended at WM 38, but no talk of anything afterward.

The Backlash event takes place on Sunday, May 8th in Providence, Rhode Island. So far, two matches are confirmed.

One is Cody Rhodes versus Seth Rollins. The other is SmackDown Women’s Champion, Charlotte Flair versus Ronda Rousey in an “I Quit” match.

Over to NXT, Johnny Gargano chose not to renew his WWE contract late last year. He’s since become a free agent, but that doesn’t mean he’s entirely “finished” with the company.

Johnny Gargano Wants More In WWE

Johnny Gargano recently appeared on the Mike Wexler podcast, Your Story. They talked about his “free agent” status.

Gargano reveals that his options are “open” right now. He goes on to say he doesn’t know what he wants to do yet.

Johnny also states that he’s in a time of his life where he is figuring things out. He notes he’s trying to establish what his “lasting” legacy should be.

Unfulfilled Things In The WWE

Probably the most interesting comment from the podcast had to do with the WWE. According to Johnny, there are still things he wants to accomplish within the company.

He also reveals a bit of a wrestling bucket list. He notes there’s WWE, AEW, New Japan Pro Wrestling, and a run in the indie scene.

Gargano says there are a lot of things he debates right now. He also confirms that he’s not sure where his return will be.

While Johnny Gargano is unsure of a lot of things, he did promise fans that once he figures things out, he’ll let us all know. Many are anxiously awaiting his comeback.

However, he and his wife Candace LeRae recently welcomed their first son, Quill Lewis Gargano, in February 2022. Johnny is likely soaking up as much family time as he can before he returns to wrestling.
