WWE’s Plans For WrestleMania 38, Possible Next Hall of Fame Inductee

As we skip along the Road to WrestleMania 38, a new report highlight’s the WWE’s plans for their flagship event, moving forward. Details are down below.

WWE’s Plans For WrestleMania 38

During Dave Meltzer’s recent Wrestling Observer Radio he discussed WWE and WrestleMania 38. Sounds like the company is hoping to have all their plans “locked” for the Grandest Stage of Them All, by next week.

Meltzer notes that the week of March 14th will be a big one for the WWE in regard to setting up matches and solidifying the card. Things are currently said to be “fluid” for the two-night event, but Dave also brought up the yearly Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal.

Since 2014, this match has either taken place on the WM card or pre-show. With that said, it may not be happening this year.

Instead, it could occur either on Monday Night RAW or Friday Night SmackDown. Since the COVID-19 pandemic hit in 2020, the Andre The Giant Battle Royal has not happened at WrestleMania.

Last year, it occurred on SmackDown and was won by Jey Uso. In the past, winners have included Matt Hardy, Cesaro, Baron Corbin, Braun Strowman, and The Big Show.

WWE’s Plans For WrestleMania 38 – Update

This year, WM 38 takes place on Saturday, April 2nd, and Sunday, April 3rd. Both events will take place at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

For those who haven’t heard as of yet, “Stone Cold” Steve Austin confirmed his appearance on the KO Show, earlier today. Kevin Owens issued out an “invitation” on last night’s RAW, and this segment is taking place on Night One of WrestleMania.

Speaking of the flagship event, the WWE Hall of Fame is a nice highlight during WM week. So far, inductees include The Undertaker and Vader.

Possible Next Hall of Fame Inductee

As per a tweet from Andrew Zarion, Wrestling Observer Live, Sid is set to be inducted into the 2022 WWE Hall of Fame. He is undeniably a wrestling legend and was the top star in many different promotions during the 1990s.

Sid held the WWE Championship twice, as well as the WCW World Heavyweight title (twice). He was also a CWA Heavyweight Champion and held the USWA World Heavyweight title (twice).

How It Started … How It’s Going …

Sid signed with the NWA in 1989. There, he and Dan Spivey formed a tag team known as The Skyscrapers.

He then entered the Four Horsemen fold in 1990, only to exit the company in 1991. Sid would move on to work for the WWE at that point.

He initially was pushed as a top face but turned heel at that year’s WrestleMania to enter a program with Hulk Hogan. Sid then left the WWE after WM 8 and returned to the WCW.

He would then jump back to the WWE shortly after, playing Shawn Michael’s bodyguard. However, as most of these storylines go, he turned on the Heartbreak Kid.

Sid eventually left the WWE once more and returned for one last run from 1996 to 1997. He also had short runs in ECW, as well as the final years of WCW.

Nothing has been confirmed from the WWE as of yet about Sid’s possible 2022 Hall of Fame induction. Still, Andrew Zarian is rarely wrong when it comes to new stories like this one.
