Prince Harry Makes Surprise Visit To Texas Rodeo Despite Meghan Markle’s Animal Rights Activism

Prince Harry shocked many this past weekend when he popped up at a Texas rodeo wearing a cowboy hat. This came as a surprise to some, given the fact that his wife Meghan Markle is known for her “woke” animal rights activism.

Three sources who also attended the Stockyards Rodeo event in Fort Worth told Daily Mail that they were shocked to see Harry at the event, since his wife has made no secret about her passion for animal rights in the past.

“It’s a quintessentially American event, where animals are made to perform,” one attendee said. 

This source went on to cite Harry previously attacking America’s First Amendment as being “bonkers” as another reason it was “shocking” that the Royal would attend an event such as a rodeo, which is American to its core. 

“Given he has such a lack of respect for the First Amendment and his wife is such an animal rights activist – it is shocking he thought he could show his face here,” this attendee said. “The funny thing is most people didn’t recognize him or care.”

Biographer Of Harry And Meghan Addresses Rodeo Trip 

Omid Scobie, Harry and Meghan’s friend and biographer, tweeted out a photo of Harry at the rodeo along with some more details about his trip to Texas.

“Living his best American life,” wrote Scobie, who is the co-author of the pro-Meghan and Harry biography “Finding Freedom.”

“Prince Harry was in Fort Worth, Texas this weekend and spent Saturday at the historic @cowtowncoliseum for the famous @StockyardsRodeo,” he added. “The duke was spotted by locals enjoying some good ol’ Southern hospitality and a VIP tour of the venue.”

Former bull rider turned trainer Cory Melton tweeted and then deleted the same photo of Harry at the rodeo. 

“Prince Harry hanging out at the rodeo this week… We get a lot of rodeo royalty but this is the first prince I’ve seen,” Melton wrote in the since-delete post. “Said he was going to enter the bull riding but the airline lost his rigging bag…”

Harry Was A Hunter Before Meghan Made Him Stop 

Harry was an avid hunter for years before Meghan convinced him to stop the sport for good in 2018, after she made it clear that she “wasn’t happy” that he had taken part in a wild boar hunt in Germany the year before.

Meghan often speaks out against animal cruelty, and she is a patron of the London-based Mayhew Trust animal charity.

Meghan was noticeably absent from Harry’s trip to the rodeo in Texas, so it is unclear what she really thought about him being there. If Harry did somehow attend this rodeo without Meghan’s permission, however, it’s likely that he’s in the doghouse at home right now!
