Travis Tritt Sends Brutal Message To Musicians Trying To ‘Cancel’ Joe Rogan

We previously reported that musicians like Neil Young and Joni Mitchell were demanding that Spotify remove their music catalogues from Spotify unless the streaming giant cancel the popular podcast that is hosted by Joe Rogan, who the left has claimed is spreading “misinformation” about COVID-19.

Now, country music star Travis Tritt is firing back by calling out these “woke” singers for their hypocrisy.

Tritt Sounds Off

“I really find it strange that so many musicians from the 60’s and 70’s are now against the idea of free speech,” Tritt wrote in a tweet that has since gone viral. “Isn’t that one of the big things they were supposedly fighting for 50-60 years ago?”

Tritt went on to post:

Other social media users were quick to agree with Tritt.

Young Demands Spotify Remove His Music

This came after Young demanded that Spotify remove his music because Rogan’s podcast is still being streamed.

“I am doing this because Spotify is spreading fake information about vaccines – potentially causing death to those who believe the disinformation being spread by them,” Young said last month, according to Rolling Stone. “Please act on this immediately today and keep me informed of the time schedule.”

“I want you to let Spotify know immediately TODAY that I want all my music off their platform,” he continued. “They can have [Joe] Rogan or Young. Not both. With an estimated 11 million listeners per episode, JRE (The Joe Rogan Experience), which is hosted exclusively on Spotify, is the world’s largest podcast and has tremendous influence. Spotify has a responsibility to mitigate the spread of misinformation on its platform, though the company presently has no misinformation policy.”

Mitchell Follows Suit – Rogan Responds

Joni Mitchell quickly followed suit, telling TMZ, “I’ve decided to remove my music from Spotify. Irresponsible people are spreading lies that are costing people their lives.”

Despite this kind of backlash, Spotify has refused to cancel Rogan, although the streaming giant has pledged to put disclaimers on the episodes in which he discusses COVID-19.

Rogan has also directly addressed Young and Mitchell’s moves against him, saying in a video posted to Instagram, “I’m very sorry that they feel way, I most certainly don’t want that. I’m a Neil Young fan, I’ve always been a Neil Young fan.”

Rogan went on to say that he has “no hard feelings towards Neil Young, and definitely no hard feelings towards Joni Mitchell, I love her too, I love her music.”

He also questioned what the word “misinformation” actually means, pointing out that things that were dubbed “misinformation” just a few months ago are now seen as facts.

Tritt hit the nail on the head with his tweet about this situation.

And, he’s not shying away from Spotify – check this out:

It’s sad to see performers who were once rebels who spoke out against “the man” now become rule-following sheep who are out to censor someone who dares to speak out against the narrative being pushed by the government.

Young and Mitchell may think they’re doing the right thing, but all they’re really doing is alienating many of the fans who once loved them for going against the grain.

Sad!

James Conrad

James Conrad’s passion for politics is only overshadowed by his longstanding interest in Hollywood. His unique perspective as a gay conservative fuels him to challenge celebrity views and those who think they have a right to tell anyone how to think or vote. James proudly wields his minority point of view to combat identity politics and cut through his typecast. Fun fact: James’ guilty pleasure is the British royal family.
