Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson Posts Surprising Response To Joe Rogan’s Message To Haters Trying To ‘Cancel’ Him

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson commented on a new video message from podcast host Joe Rogan to his haters working to “cancel” his Spotify show and his response may surprise you.

In the wee hours of January 31, the former “Fear Factor” host took to Instagram with a lengthy video addressing his “haters” and the high profile controversy surrounding “The Joe Rogan Experience” podcast on Spotify.

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson Stands By Joe Rogan

Musicians and celebrities like Neil Young, Meghan Markle, and Prince Harry have been calling on Spotify to take action against Rogan for claims he’s made about COVID-19 on his popular podcast “The Joe Rogan Experience.”

Despite this, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson stood apart from the flock by posting a comment supporting Joe Rogan.

“Great stuff here brother,” commented Johnson, 49. “Look forward to coming on one day and breaking out the tequila with you.”

The former WWE legend turned A-list Hollywood star rarely weighs in on politics so when he does, fans take notice. The Rock identified as Republican for most of his life, but in a surprise twist, he endorsed Biden/Harris in 2020.

The Rock’s support of Joe Rogan makes one wonder if the “Jungle Cruise” actor might have had a change a heart in these past two years.

While Rogan’s videos draw a huge audience, he likely was not expecting this drive-by praise from Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.

Joe Rogan Posts Video Response To Spotify Controversy

This latest controversy blew up after Neil Young demanded Spotify remove his music from their platform because of Rogan’s COVID-19 comments.

Then, Meghan and Harry called on Spotify to address the “serious harms” of spreading what they describe as “misinformation,” according to People Magazine.

Rogan responded to the backlash in a 10-minute video posted to his Instagram page.

“Now, because of this controversy … Neil Young has removed his music from the platform of Spotify and Joni Mitchell and apparently some other people want to as well,” he said. “I’m very sorry that they feel that way. I most certainly don’t want that. I’m a Neil Young fan, I’ve always been a Neil Young fan.”

Rogan went on to say that while he will not stop doing his podcast, he will try to “balance out” the controversial opinions that sometimes end up on his show.

“My pledge to you is that I will do my best to try to balance out these more controversial viewpoints with other people’s perspectives, so that we can maybe find a better point of view,” he said. “I don’t want to just show the contrary opinion to what the narrative is. I want to show all kinds of opinions so that we can all figure what’s going on…”

‘If I Pissed You Off, I’m Sorry’

Rogan then explained that he never expected to have the millions of fans and listeners that he has today.

“I do all the scheduling myself, and I don’t always get it right,” he added. “These podcasts are very strange because they’re just conversations, and oftentimes I have no idea what I’m going to talk about until I sit down to talk to people, and that’s why some of my ideas are not that prepared or fleshed out because I’m literally having them in real time. But I do my best.”

“If I pissed you off, I’m sorry,” Rogan concluded. “And if you enjoyed the podcast, thank you. … Thank you all the supporters and even thank you to the haters because it’s good to have some haters. It makes you reassess what you’re doing and put things into perspective and I think that’s good too.”

Spotify Takes Action

Spotify announced yesterday that disclaimers will be added to any podcast episodes that mention COVID-19.

“This advisory will direct listeners to our dedicated COVID-19 Hub, a resource that provides easy access to data-driven facts, up-to-date information as shared by scientists, physicians, academics and public health authorities around the world, as well as links to trusted sources,” Spotify CEO Daniel Ek said in a statement.

Since condemning Rogan has become the latest trend among the celebrity liberal elite, it was both surprising and satisfying to see Johnson stand by him.

We applaud Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson for thinking for himself and remaining loyal to his friend Joe Rogan. Johnson certainly didn’t have to publicly praise Rogan.

James Conrad

James Conrad’s passion for politics is only overshadowed by his longstanding interest in Hollywood. His unique perspective as a gay conservative fuels him to challenge celebrity views and those who think they have a right to tell anyone how to think or vote. James proudly wields his minority point of view to combat identity politics and cut through his typecast. Fun fact: James’ guilty pleasure is the British royal family.
