Rizin 33 Results: Hiromasa Ougikubo Claims GP Title

Hiromasa Ougikubo won the Rizin Bantamweight Grand Prix at Rizin 33. 

Ougikubo bested Kai Asakura in the finals. The event took place from the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan.

The 34-year-old bested Naoki Inoue in the semifinals to advance, where he improved to 25-5-2 with a win over Asakura. Ougikubo has won five in a row since a 2020 loss to Asakura. 

In the main event, Roberto de Souza defended his lightweight title with a second round submission over Yusuke Yachi. 

Tenshin Nasukawa and Takanori Gomi battled to a draw in a special standing bout rules match. 

Seika Izawa bested Rizin champion Ayaka Hamasaki in the second round via TKO in a non-title bout.
