We’ve got ourselves another RAW In A Nutshell, and this week? So…the Survivor Series teams are set…what next?
Wait…why is that the headline?
Honestly, it’s kind of WWE booking issues in a Nutshell.
Over the weekend, for whatever reason, WWE announced the men’s and women’s Survivor Series teams.
No build, no reasoning, just…announcements on social media over the weekend.
Someone, somewhere, thought this was a good idea. And me, here in New York?
I disagree, and the things that unfolded on RAW this week support that.
There was no reason to announce entire teams-four of them-over the weekend and on social media.
The right move should have been to use the formation of the Survivor Series teams to fill time on RAW and SmackDown.
Silly ideas, obviously.
I guess in a way, WWE did end up doing that…just, in a sort of round-about, backwards kind of way.
So, in case you didn’t figure it out, with a couple weeks between us and Survivor Series…the focus of the show is clear.
Without more chatter…it is time for…
Let’s crack open this Nutshell and see how things go.
Been like this a lot lately, but the main event won out. Lost a little on the count out ending, but that continues the Big E-KO drama, and protected all involved.
That said, I really was into Big E and Chad Gable…and could really get into Big E and Otis.
I mean, the guy did previously have the briefcase…so why not?
Dom Mysterio and Lashley.
As Rey himself said after the carnage, if Adam Pearce wanted Lashley in Survivor Series, he could have just done it.
I feel like those words will drive a wedge between father and son…
I feel compelled to give it to a Jersey girl, Liv Morgan.
In spite of the slight hiccup, having Bianca Belair deliver a double power bomb was pretty sick.
Dom Mysterio, hands down.
Kid knew what was coming, surely he did. But to lose your spot on Team RAW has to sting.
My big one remains the fact that the Survivor Series teams got set when and how they got set.
Nope, not giving up on that easily.
I honestly never expected to see Graves and Saxton win the 24/7 Championship ever. Forget about both on the same night, with Saxton pinning Graves even.
Then we got to see Kevin Owens snap on Big E. Guessing Owens is a heel once again…
From a wrestling perspective, either Liv or Bianca had a bit of a botch on the double power bomb, because Liv started coming down too soon. Together, they made it work, so I guess no harm no foul.
My bigger botch actually happened over the weekend…
That continued, and gave us all the Survivor Series teams announced.
Instead of seeing matches tonight that were used to qualify Superstars for each team…we got matches putting team members against one another, while other Superstars complain that they weren’t involved.
If only there was a way to fix that…
Or, you get a returning Bobby Lashley, who wrestled and defeated Dom to take his spot.
Just…stupid booking.
And the 24/7 Championship chaos returned. Well, briefly anyways.
Reggie lost the title! But then, Drake Maverick lost it to Tozawa, who lost it to Graves, then Saxton…and a few more falls and it was back with Reggie.
The segment was a bit funny. Also a bit unexpected, but it made me laugh.
And after all of that…Reggie remains champ.
Both Graves and Saxton won the 24/7 Championship.
Perhaps the only good thing to come out of that moronic women’s Survivor Series team “fatal five-way”, Liv Morgan earned herself a shot at Becky Lynch and the RAW Women’s Championship.
Maybe things weren’t so bad…but it was so silly to have to be like…oh hey, the Survivor Series teams are set…let’s fight over who WWE announced on social media!
Instead of being like, hey, we want 5 men and 5 women for the RAW Survivor Series teams…let’s let these Superstars challenge each other to earn spots.
Like, fine, the show spots got filled…but in some cases, the argument was logical. From a wrestling perspective, Doudrop probably deserves consideration, over someone like Carmella.
Yes, I said what I said…
Liked how Gable and Otis got used.
Not loving Kevin Owens as a heel…BUT…he does good heel work, so I will allow it.
Welcome back, 24/7 Championship chaos.
Well, not a horrible RAW in a Nutshell, right?
I mean, I feel like WWE handcuffed things a bit this weekend. With the Survivor Series teams set, it took drama and suspense out of both RAW and SmackDown.
Did not love the bickering and jealousy of the women who weren’t picked…but where else could they go?
Just a couple weeks till Survivor Series…so we shall see how things go next week.
