Cody Rhode Talks In-Ring Retiring, Reactions To Heel Bryan Danielson

At 36 years of age, Cody Rhodes isn’t old by any stretch of the imagination. However, wrestling can take a toll on your body. How long does he have when it comes to that squared circle? He recently talks about his thoughts on retiring from in-ring competition.

Cody Rhode Talks In-Ring Retiring

Rhodes recently spoke with Busted Open Radio. He talks about not having that much time left in the squared circle.

He notes he doesn’t have a lot of time left when it comes to in-ring competition. Cody makes it clear he can’t do this for 10 more years.

In fact, Rhodes states he has three years left to wrestle full-time. He also wants to make it the best version of himself, ever.

Cody Rhode In-Ring Retiring – Could He Become Champion?

Cody has already had quite a career. He entered the WWE in 2006.

During his time in the company, he was Intercontinental Champion (twice) and held the tag team titles six times.

After he left the WWE in 2016, he won gold everywhere he went. He was the IWGP U.S. Heavyweight Champion and won ROH’s World Championship and six-man tag titles.

Once he hit AEW, he became TNT Champion, twice. In 2018 Sports Illustrated named him Wrestler of the Year, and in 2020 he hit #7 of PWI’s top 500.

Not too shabby, at all. But can Rhodes become AEW World Champion?

By his own stipulation, he won’t challenge for the title again. However, “stipulations” in the land of pro wrestling are made to be broken.

Over to another performer that’s All Elite, Bryan Danielson made some waves last night during Dynamite. While he makes an incredible face, looks like he’s turned heel in AEW.

Reactions To Heel Bryan Danielson

Who knew this would happen? Bryan Danielson became the #1 contender for the AEW Championship this past weekend after he defeated Miro at the Full Gear event.

He ended up interrupting Hangman’s celebration speech during last night’s Dynamite episode. He also turned heel in the process.

Twitter would explode, as Danielson relayed a time when he won the World title at WrestleMania and competed the next day. He got booed by the live crowd.

Moreover, Bryan placed the nail in that heel turn coffin when he mocked the Virginia live crowd for hating “hard work”. WNZ has some Twitter reactions both above and below.

Heel Bryan Danielson Makes His Mark

Before the segment ended, Bryan stated that he didn’t want to challenge Page for the title that night. That statement also received a tremendous amount of boos.

There was a small fight before Danielson took on Evil Uno. It’s clear, heel Bryan Danielson has arrived in AEW!

There are mixed opinions on BD turning “team bad guy”. Some love the idea, some aren’t so keen.

At the end of the day, Danielson is a talent that can pull off both personas. He’s great as the ultimate babyface, but also has a way of evoking fan disdain as a heel character.

He’ll be successful at whatever stance he takes. All Elite and their fans are lucky to have him.
