Queen Elizabeth is reportedly paying out millions in legal fees to help Prince Andrew fight the sexual abuse claims leveled against him by Jeffrey Epstein accuser Virginia Roberts Giuffre in her bombshell lawsuit.

Queen Spending Millions On Prince Andrew’s Sexual Abuse Lawsuit

The Telegraph first broke the news that Queen Elizabeth is spending millions from her private estate to attorneys who charge as much as $2,000 an hour in the hopes of helping her third child clear his name.

New York Post described the Queen’s efforts as “bankrolling her disgraced son Prince Andrew’s legal battle”.

The 95 year-old monarch reportedly agreed to pay her 61 year-old son’s legal fees last year following his infamous BBC “Newsnight” interview about Giuffre’s claims.

You can watch some of the lowlights from Prince Andrew’s infamous BBC interview below.

While Andrew attempted to deny the allegations in this interview, critics said that he appeared insensitive to the victims of the late billionaire pedophile Epstein, according to Fox News.

Andrew stepped back from his royal duties in the wake of this interview and been laying low ever since.

Virginia Roberts Giuffre’s Claims Against Prince Andrew

Giuffre has claimed in her lawsuit that she was forced to have sex with Andrew multiple times when she was under the age of 18.

The BBC reported that Giuffre has alleged in her lawsuit that Andrew engaged in sexual acts without her consent, knowing how old she was and “that she was a sex-trafficking victim.”

The suit also claims that the trauma from Andrew’s “extreme and outrageous conduct” continues to cause Giuffre “significant emotional and psychological distress and harm.”

“In this country no person, whether president or prince, is above the law, and no person, no matter how powerless or vulnerable, can be deprived of the law’s protection,” legal documents presented in Giuffre’s case state. “Twenty years ago Prince Andrew’s wealth, power, position, and connections enabled him to abuse a frightened, vulnerable child with no one there to protect her. It is long past the time for him to be held to account.”

Buckingham Palace Defends Andrew

Buckingham Palace has stood by Andrew, denying the allegations that have been made against him.

“It is emphatically denied that The Duke of York had any form of sexual contact or relationship with Virginia Roberts,” the palace has said. “Any claim to the contrary is false and without foundation.”

“The Duke has already stated that he did not see, witness or suspect any behavior of the sort that subsequently led to Jeffrey Epstein’s arrest and conviction,” the palace added. “He deplores the exploitation of any human being and would not condone, participate in, or encourage any such behavior.”

Prince Andrew’s scandal has certainly become a headache for the entire Royal Family.

While it might surprise some that the Queen would pledge to pay her 61-year-old son’s expensive legal bills, it’s not uncommon for a parent to stand by their child.

In this case, however, “the Queen Mother” has all of Britain – and the world – watching (and judging) her every move.
