Beth Phoenix has the itch to wrestle again and is open to the idea of an in-ring return for WWE. Also, Thunder Rosa is officially part of AEW.

Beth Phoenix Teases In-Ring Return

The women’s division in WWE has dramatically changed over the past five years. Once the company decided to put the proper emphasis on the female superstars, they took off.

Nowadays, they have their own gimmick matches and are headlining pay per views. When Beth Phoenix was around, that was not the case.

Women were still struggling to get the attention they deserved. Now, as for a return inside the ring, that could happen.

While on Oral Sessions with Renee Paquette, Phoenix did not rule out a return.

“I say this in every interview, you never say never,” said Phoenix. “If the right opportunity arose and you could do business, that’s really all I would care about.”

“Because of course, would I love to have a retirement match, a big farewell and give someone a high five and pass the torch? Yes. But there’s only a limited amount of people I can do that for, whereas on commentary I can do that two hours every single week.”

And, she has been busy with NXT. Fans can catch her each week calling the action.

“Every week I can tell you how awesome Indi Hartwell is, or ‘look at Shotzi Blackheart’s improvements.’ I can help all the talent weekly on commentary.”

“So in that respect, I love commentary because it feels like I’m contributing in a positive way. But the in ring stuff? I don’t know what the future brings.”

“I don’t write off anything, I don’t close any doors. If there was ever something that WWE was interested in doing, I would love to say goodbye and high five someone and give it the endorsement or whatever.”

Phoenix left WWE in 2012, but has made a few special appearances. She was last spotted in a losing effort at WrestleMania 35 as she teamed with Natalya.

“I have a feeling there will be someone who will be across the ring for me at some point. I don’t want to give any clues on that. But I don’t think Beth Phoenix is done lacing up the boots forever.”

AEW Signs Another Big Name

Speaking of the women’s division, AEW just secured a major name. The former NWA Women’s World Champion is officially a full-time member of AEW.

She had been working for AEW as part of a deal with the NWA. Then, Tony Khan decided to buyout the rest of her contract; which lasted until 2021.

Rosa has been one of the most popular names to come to AEW. Her feud with Britt Baker, and the insane final match, has received universal praise.

She just appeared at Impact Wrestling’s Slammiversary, where she was unsuccessful in capturing the title.

In the past few days, we have learned that Daniel Bryan is joining AEW and the same seems to happening with CM Punk. Clearly, AEW has the star power to give WWE a real run for their money.
