Rumored Plans For Beth Phoenix, WWE Superstar Retires
After Fastlane, there are rumors Beth Phoenix will be working at least one more match in the WWE. Also, Brie Bella has retired.
– At some recent pay per views, Beth Phoenix has been spotted working at the announce table. At Sunday’s Fastlane, the WWE Hall of Famer got into a physical altercation with Nia Jax & Tamina. This led to her Divas of Doom partner Natalya getting involved. In the end, the heels left the faces laying.
During the Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer mentioned that Phoenix & Natalya will work as a team at WrestleMania 35. There has been talk of WWE Women Tag Team Champions Sasha Banks & Bayley defending their titles against teams from RAW, SmackDown and NXT. If Fastlane was a hint into the future, then two of the title challengers could be Phoenix & Natalya and Nia & Tamina.
Phoenix officially left WWE in 2012. After the WWE Hall of Fame in 2017, she spent two years working various roles on TV and then competed in the first female Royal Rumble Match in 2018.
– On the most recent episode of Total Bellas, Brie Bella stated that she was done competing inside the ring to have another baby and focus more on family. Her reasoning came during a conversation with Daniel Bryan.
“I know a couple months ago I told you I wasn’t ready for baby number two because I have a lot on my plate,” said Brie to Bryan. “But I’ve been thinking about it a lot and I think the comeback really made me realize that I am actually ready. And I do want Birdie and our next baby to be close in age. I decided that after Evolution, I’m going be fully retired.”
Following the birth of her of child, Brie returned during the 2018 Royal Rumble Match. Her final match was teaming with Bryan to defeat The Miz & Maryse at Hell in a Cell. Brie’s final appearance on TV was accompanying Nikki Bella to the ring during the main event of Evolution.
