An Iowa teacher’s viral TikTok videos defending Critical Race Theory and slamming the Pledge of Allegiance have some parents on high alert.

Megan Geha is a Special Education Teacher at Des Moines East High School. According to her TikTok, her class is certainly special. Her students apparently are bombarded with her political views.

She acknowledges herself as a liberal activist but she believes it’s time to step that up.

Geha issues a call to action for fellow teachers and it appears increased indoctrination of students is her main goal.

Teachers can influence dozens or even hundreds of children every year. The long term impact of one teacher’s forcing of political beliefs on students can be shocking and have serious long term consequences for our society and culture.

Some social media users are calling her out for what she’s saying.

Call To Action To Fellow Teachers

“So, teachers, in the past, we’ve been activists, and after this s***show of last year, we really need to stand up and do what’s right for our kids right now,” Geha said on TikTok. “This is a call to action, teachers. We really need to stand up and fight for our kids.”

“My governor has put into place some ridiculous legislation that many governors across the country have put into place, such as I can’t teach anything divisive, I can’t teach critical race theory, and I can’t teach about racial equity,” she says.

“The other thing that my governor has mandated for next year is that every classroom, it’s mandatory that we all have an American flag, and it is mandatory that we all do the Pledge of Allegiance every morning,” Geha says in the viral video below about Iowa’s new legislation. “You’re going to be hearing from me a lot next year.”

Iowa Gov. Kim Reynold signed a bill banning government agencies and public educational facilities from teaching critical race theory.

The governor said, “Critical race theory is about labels and stereotypes, not education. It teaches kids that we should judge others based on race, gender, or sexual identity, rather than the content of someone’s character. I am proud to have worked with the legislature to promote learning, not discriminatory indoctrination.”

Be prepared for some unsavory language.

She Brings Her Politics Into The Classroom

That’s not the only video of Geha’s that is going viral. The activist teacher took issue with a statement intimating that teachers have failed if students know who you voted for because your politics dominate the classroom.

This teacher’s activism extends to the classroom and she’s not afraid to admit it. It even decorates her classroom.

As you can imagine, some people do not like her message:

“Fifty-one percent of my students are Latinx, and many of them are undocumented, and many more have parents who are undocumented,” the special education teacher said. “When they come into my classroom and see signs that say, ‘No human is illegal,’ they don’t need to know who I voted for. … When my black students come into my classroom and see my Black Lives Matter posters, I don’t need to tell them. When my LGBTQ+ students come in and see my pride flag, I don’t need to tell them.”

Geha also gave followers a tour of her classroom. Her politics completely dominate.

Her political beliefs decorate the room. Parents watching the video below might want to stop by their own children’s classrooms to see if something similar is happening there.
