Stephanie McMahon Shares Her Experience At Summerslam 1992

To celebrate SummerSlam coming up in August, Stephanie McMahon recently talked about her experience at SummerSlam 1992. And, McMahon underlined the importance of a crowd.

Crowds are slowly returning to big events. Naturally, this means that WWE can now enjoy live crowd reactions again!

Of course, it could not have come at a better time. After all, SummerSlam is just around the corner and scheduled for August.

Now, SummerSlam was only held in a stadium once before. The last time was in 1992, when SummerSlam was held in the UK.

While speaking to Sports Illustrated, Stephanie McMahon elaborated on her experience at the event.

“I had the opportunity to sit in the crowd, and I remember how big it was and how passionate it was.”

“I remember it was raining, and I remember how the rain stopped as soon as the first match started. Remember how over the British Bulldog was with the crowd. It was a beautiful ride of emotions, a spectacle, and I loved being there.”

Unfortunately, the WWE did not do a large event in the UK for a long time. Drew McIntyre, former WWE Champion, is pushing for the WWE to hold a huge UK show.

Plans For SummerSlam 2021

With SummerSlam 2021, WWE is hoping to recuperate some of the losses they suffered during the pandemic. Needless to say, a lot of promotion is going into the event this year.

SummerSlam 2021 is scheduled for Saturday 21st of August. The pre-show for the event is available on the WWE Network, the application, and even YouTube.

There are a good two months left before the event takes place, so little is known about the match card at the moment.

However, there are plenty of rumors going around.

One of the most persistent is a return for former WWE champion John Cena. If rumors are accurate, he could be returning as the Doctor of Thuganomics (after his match with The Fiend).

And there is more. Rumors indicate that the WWE already chose an opponent for Roman Reigns.

If the rumors are true, then Roman Reigns could be John Cena’s opponent. In fact, their match could be one for the WWE Universal Championship.

Since Roman has turned heel, Cena is most likely coming in as a face. Unfortunately, Roman and Cena have faced each other before.

WWE is planning on making SummerSlam the biggest event of the year for 2021. This is no surprise, especially since they couldn’t do the same with WrestleMania.

The Cena versus Roman Reigns headline becomes more likely with the WWE trying to recover losses. Whether you hate him or love him, Cena has huge mainstream appeal at this point.

However, the question remains if Cena has the time to appear at SummerSlam. He may be too busy working on his Hollywood film projects.

Of course, an invitation for The Rock could also go down well with WWE fans!?
