Judge Judy Sheindlin has a brutal message for CBS after the network favored “The Drew Barrymore Show” over her second show “Hot Bench.”

While Sheindlin is best known for her show “Judge Judy,” which had an historic 25-year run and was the top first-run show in all of syndicated TV, she also created the show “Hot Bench.”

Her second show involves judges Tanya Acker, Patricia Dimango, and Michael Corriero ruling on cases much in the same no-nonsense and brash way for which Sheindlin is known.

Judge Judy’s Fury

Sheindlin made it clear to the Wall Street Journal that she is furious that CBS chose to banish “Hot Bench” to the network’s secondary channels in favor of giving “The Drew Barrymore Show” a prime time slot in daytime TV.

“You disrespected my creation,” Sheindlin said in a message to CBS executives. She got the last laugh when her show torched “The Drew Barrymore Show” in the ratings, averaging 2.3 million viewers compared to the latter’s 719,000 this season.

“You were wrong,” Sheindlin continued. “Not only in disrespecting my creation, but your gamble in what you put in its place.”

With a laugh, Sheindlin added that she and CBS “had a nice marriage,” but their public split is “going to be a Bill and Melinda Gates divorce.”

CBS Tries To Kiss Up To Her

CBS Media Ventures President Steve LoCascio tried to do some damage control by issuing a groveling statement praising Judge Judy to the publication.

“We have had an incredibly successful relationship with Judy over the last 25 years,” he said.

“It has been an honor representing her show, and just like there has never been another Oprah, there will never be another Judge Judy,” LoCascio added.

Judy Sheindlin Moves On To Amazon

Sheindlin will now be talking her IP to a new platform, Amazon’s streaming service IMDb TV.

And, she’s not ready to retire. She said, “I don’t play golf. I don’t play tennis. I don’t play mahjong. Why would I want to look for something I want to do when I already know what I like to do?”

Fox News reported that Sheindlin has said that her negotiations with Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos were not as difficult as one would think.

“Without giving you specifics, because that’s a little unseemly, my compensation has not been a secret,” said Sheindlin, who earned a reported $47 million per season.

“It’s been out there for a long time – not by me, but it got out there and had its own life,” she added. “So, the folks at Amazon understood what the parameters were. There was no issue.”

If there was any doubt that Sheindlin is not a woman to mess with, there is certainly none now! CBS executives will undoubtedly be kicking themselves for quite some time to come for angering “Judge Judy” herself.
