While many people were excited for the “Friends” reunion, one person was definitely not – Piers Morgan.

The former “Good Morning Britain” host is not afraid to speak his mind, even when it’s to skewer a show that stirs up nostalgia for millions of fans.

“Friends: The Reunion”

“Friends: The Reunion” aired on HBO Max on Thursday night. The main stars got together with James Cordon for an unscripted reunion.

The long-running series still has a devoted fan base even though the series ended in 2004. Together with “Seinfeld,” Thursday nights were must-see TV.

“Friends” fans were hungry for the-long anticipated reunion.

But, Piers Morgan was not.

He declared it as “the most overrated show in TV history.” He also said it wasn’t funny.

Piers didn’t just make this comment with any tweet, he did it by quoting his own son. “Reminder that no one cares that you think you’re too clever to like Friends. Have a day off #FriendsReunion,” Spencer Morgan tweeted causing his father to reply.

The father and son duo might have had words following that exchange. As you know, Piers will criticize and mock anyone, including his own kid! He is an equal opportunity offender.

Piers has taken a lot of heat recently for his repeated criticism of Meghan Markle.

He even stepped away from job because of it. But, he’s still true to himself and will say what’s on his mind.

Piers Morgan’s Son Responds

But, many saw this tweet as a pop culture faux pas. Devoted fans replied to him.

And, some just blasted him.

“Come on Piers.. It’s like you’re always stuck in second gear. And it hasn’t been your day, your week, your month, or even your year,” one fan tweeted quoting the show’s theme song.

“I usually agree with what you say but you have this so wrong! Friends is the best sitcom of all time!,” another responded.

“I liked you until now. It’s like your intent on losing followers,” someone else tweeted.

The younger Morgan perhaps had the funniest reply to his father. Spencer pointed out that Piers actually proved the point of his original tweet.

Spencer Morgan didn’t take his dad’s advice. He watched the “Friends” reunion show and apparently had a significant emotional response to it.

All 10 seasons of “Friends” are available on HBO Max. Do you plan to watch the reunion show? Let us know in the comments.
