Parents have been battling the critical race theory being taught in Loudoun County, Virginia and one mom recently brought down the house at a school board meeting. She gave a passionate speech that evoked Martin Luther King, Jr.
Critical race theory has been pushed into many classrooms across the country during the pandemic. The death of George Floyd appeared to present an opportunity that leftists didn’t want to waste.
Parents often blindly trust their schools to teach, but in recent years some parents are noticing extremism indoctrination seeping into curriculum.
However, the county maintains that it doesn’t utilize critical race theory.
Critical Race Theory Compared To Jim Crow Laws
But rather than uniting students, critical race theory divides.
There are reports around the country of students being sectioned off according to their race echoing Jim Crow laws decades ago.
Many parents are concerned that the emphasis is on gender and ethnicity rather than character.

Loudoun County has been a battleground for critical race theory.
Parents have pitted themselves against the school board to stop this from being taught to their children.
Interim Superintendent Scott A. Ziegler says, “In explaining LCPS’ equity priorities, it might be helpful to state what they are not. They are not an effort to indoctrinate students and staff into a particular philosophy or theory. What they are is an effort to provide a welcoming, inclusive, affirming environment for all students.”
However, these parents have an ally in Monica Gill, an AP Government teacher in the school district.
“We’re told that we’re living in a county that’s suffering from systemic racism and I think that that whole notion has done nothing but damage our community and our school since they began pushing equity,” Gill said in an interview with Fox News
She said parents were advised to “disrupt and dismantle this systemic racism. And I can tell you, one thing that’s for sure, it has been disruptive because there are parents who disagree with this ideology, there are teachers who disagree with it, there are students who disagree with it — and it is harmful.”
Mom Puts Loudoun County School Board On Notice
A mom who took the microphone at a recent school board meeting made her point clear.
She doesn’t want critical race theory being shoved down her children’s throats and she is confident a civil rights hero wouldn’t either.
“In the words of Martin Luther King Jr., “I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character,” the upset mother told the school board,” the mom said.
“Now I have a dream that we will implement love, not hate. Or supporting another Jim Crow’s agenda. CRT is not an honest dialogue,” she continued. “It is a tactic that was used by Hitler and the Ku Klux Klan on slavery many years ago to dumb down my ancestors so WE could not think for ourselves.”

“CRT is racist. It is abusive. It discriminates against one’s color. Let me educate you. An honest dialogue does not oppress. An honest dialogue does not implement hatred or injustice,” the upset mom told the school board.
She continued, “It’s to communicate without deceiving people. Today, we don’t need your agreement. We want action and a backbone for what we ask for today: To ban CRT. We don’t want your political advertisement to divide our children or belittle them. Think twice before you indoctrinate such racist theories. You can not tell me what is or is not racist. LOOK AT ME!”
