Miss USA Miss Universe

The Miss Universe pageant took place on Sunday night, with Miss Mexico Andrea Meza taking the crown. In the lead-up to the pageant, Miss USA Arya Branch, who ended up making it to the top 21, gushed about how proud she was to represent America at the pageant.

Branch Praises America

Before the pageant, Branch told Fox News that she was “excited to meet people from all different backgrounds and countries and just have the opportunity to represent the United States of America.”

When asked what makes her proud to be an American, Branch had this to say:

I always go back to our liberties and freedom. I’m proud to be a part of the greatest nation and to have the freedoms that I have. I am proud to be a part of this country and to have the abilities and freedoms to do the things I’ve dreamed about doing for so long.

At one point, there weren’t African American women competing in pageantry. And I’ve made history as the first Black woman crowned Mississippi. And from there, I was crowned Miss USA. It has really opened my eyes to a lot of different things. I’m proud to be an American because I have these freedoms to chase my dreams.

Arya Branch Talks About Her Faith

In this same interview, Branch also talked about her faith, saying that it has helped her during her time as Miss USA.

“I rely on my faith wholeheartedly,” she explained. “Your faith will always be tested. It has helped me developed as an individual. I know this is where I’m supposed to be. I’m following in my path and the plan that God has for me in this life. And I believe it is to impact the lives of others, to use my voice to help others. It’s been comforting to know that on good days or bad, I can pray.”

Branch’s Advice To Next Miss USA

Branch then offered some advice to the next Miss USA, whomever she may be.

“I think for every individual, it’s going to be a different experience based on your passions, your personality and your interests,” she said. “I feel like everyone’s experience is unique to them. But the piece of advice that I would give is to go into this experience with an open mind and an open heart. Be ready to step outside of your comfort zone and truly live in the present because time does fly. You will blink and realize that months have gone by. You don’t want to be so focused on the future that you forget to live in the moment.”

In a time where liberals have made patriotism taboo and have made criticizing the U.S. “hip” and “cool,” Branch’s pro-America attitude is truly refreshing.

We really are lucky to have a good Christian like Arya Branch representing our great nation.
