Aaron Rodgers Returning To ‘Jeopardy!’ As Host, But There’s A Twist

Weeks after he ended his two week stint guest hosting the iconic game show “Jeopardy!,” Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is returning to the lectern to host once again, but not in the way you’re thinking.

Rodgers Guest Hosting ‘Jeopardy!’ With A Twist

Rodgers will actually be portraying the “Jeopardy!” host on the final two episodes of this season of “The Conners!”

In the episodes, Jackie (Laurie Metcalf) ends up on “Jeopardy!” as a contestant, and it doesn’t take long for things to get weird.

In the teaser for the episode, Jackie can be seen trying to flirt with Rodgers. He appears to be clueless about her advances.

“Aaron Rodgers, this — I’ve been feeling some obvious chemistry here,” Jackie says in the clip, to which a shocked Rodgers responds, “Between who and who?”

“We’re really going to do this?!” Jackie excitedly asks.

Rodgers’ Time Guest Hosting ‘Jeopardy!’

Rodgers was one of the celebrities to try his hand hosting “Jeopardy!” in the wake of the death of longtime host Alex Trebek.

Trebek died in November at the age of 80 following a battle with pancreatic cancer.

Since ending his guest hosting gig, Rodgers has been outspoken about wanting to host “Jeopardy!” permanently in the future.

“No, I’m not going to [quit football]. I just won MVP, I still have a lot left in the tank,” Rodgers recently explained. “I’m still going to play, and I’d love to host ‘Jeopardy!’ at the same time. ‘Jeopardy!’ films five shows a day, 46 days a year. That’s 230 episodes. And I work for six months out of the year. So the other six months, I would have time to probably film 46 days I think.”

Rodgers’ Preparation For Guest Hosting

Before his episodes of “Jeopardy!” aired, Rodgers explained how he prepared to host the show.

“I haven’t watched an episode since Alex,” Rodgers confessed. “I didn’t really want to be influenced at all by the other guest hosts and how they do things. Kind of want to do things my way. Which my way meant a total respect and almost mimicking the beauty that Alex Trebek brought to the show.”

Instead, Rodgers went about learning the ins and outs of live television.

“Just the flow of a show is something you learn how to do,” Rodgers stated. “For me, it was taking a lot of notes, and figuring out exactly what Alex did. And wanting to do him justice, his memory justice, by being as prepared as possible when I got on the show.”

We can’t wait to see how Rodgers does with his guest-hosting stint on “The Conners.” Hopefully, it goes just as well as his time on the real “Jeopardy!” did!

James Conrad

James Conrad’s passion for politics is only overshadowed by his longstanding interest in Hollywood. His unique perspective as a gay conservative fuels him to challenge celebrity views and those who think they have a right to tell anyone how to think or vote. James proudly wields his minority point of view to combat identity politics and cut through his typecast. Fun fact: James’ guilty pleasure is the British royal family.
