A 23-year-old Minnesota man has been sentenced to four years in prison. He’s also been ordered to pay $12 million in restitution for his role in setting a police precinct ablaze during last year’s George Floyd riots.

Last May, Dylan Shakespeare Robinson trampled over a fence at the precinct. Then he lit a Molotov cocktail that was thrown by someone else into Minneapolis’s third precinct. He was just one of the people who rioted and committed arson during last year’s Black Lives Matter riots.

In December, the rioter pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit arson.

Co-Conspirators Have Pleaded Guilty

Three other rioters have also pleaded guilty to the same charge, so Robinson will not be the only one facing repercussions for this violent act.

Federal agents studied social media and surveillance videos to identify people who had a role in the arson at the police precinct.

For part of his sentence, Robinson will serve two years of supervised release.

In order to collect the $12 million in restitution, prosecutors can use wage, bank account, and retirement plan garnishments. It is unclear how much the 23-year-old Robinson has in assets.

Video of the precinct ablaze is in the tweet below.

“The danger posed by the defendant in this case was very real,” Special FBI agent Michael Paul said in a statement. “Today’s sentencing sends a clear message — regardless of motivation, when someone is intent on conducting a violent act that breaks federal law, the FBI and our law enforcement partners will move assertively to hold them accountable.

Bryce Michael Williams, 27, Davon De-Andre Turner, 25, and Branden Michael Wolfe, 23 are Robinson’s co-conspirators. The left wing radicals have all admitted guilt and are awaiting sentencing.

Another Admits To Shooting Into Police Precinct

In addition to them, Ivan Harrison Hunter is accused of shooting 13 rounds from an AK-47 style weapon into the precinct while people were inside. The 26-year-old Texan, who is a member of the extremist group Bugaloo Bois, posted about it on Facebook.

His online admission helped authorities identify him.

The affidavit states Harrison bragged on his Facebook page, “I helped the community burn down that police station” and “I didn’t’ [sic] protest peacefully.”

Hunter admitted to police he is the leader of the Boogaloo Bois in South Texas.
