Sharon Osbourne Piers Morgan

Yesterday, we reported that Sharon Osbourne was one of the celebrities who stood by Piers Morgan after he stepped down from “Good Morning Britain” amidst allegations of racism for daring to criticize Meghan Markle.

Osbourne Defends Morgan On ‘The Talk’

On Wednesday’s episode of “The Talk,” Osbourne was viciously attacked by her cohosts for defending her good friend Piers. But she refused to back down.

When her cohosts called her out, Osbourne tried to explain that she was just trying to support her” friend” and “his freedom of speech and his opinions on what he felt about the interview of Meghan and Harry.”

“I know he has a right to say what he feels on the interview, as we have a right to say and everybody has a right to say what they feel with freedom of speech,” Osbourne said.

“Did I like everything he said? Did I agree with what he said? No, because it’s his opinion,” she added. “It’s not my opinion. But why is it that because I supported a long-time friend and work colleague of mine for years that everybody goes, if you support him, then you must be racist because he’s racist?”

‘The Talk’ Explodes Into Chaos

A heated exchange ensued, with her cohost Sheryl Underwood saying that the last time Morgan appeared on the show, she tried to “bring to his attention that there were racial and racist implications in the dealings with Meghan Markle, specifically because she was Black.”

“He doesn’t want to understand how Meghan was treated was racism and then says…I don’t see it as being racist — I don’t believe what she’s going through — it’s that white entitlement, privilege that makes it racist upon itself,” Underwood continued.

“So if you’re saying I stand with you, how do you address people who say then you are standing with racism? I’m not saying that you are,” she added.

Osbourne became visibly upset as the heated exchange continued.

At one point she said, “I feel even like I’m about to be put in the electric chair because I have a friend who many people think is a racist so that makes me a racist.”

Underwood replied, “I’ve never seen anything come out of you other than, ‘If I don’t know, I’m willing to learn. If I come off a certain way, I stand corrected.”

Then Underwood asked, “What would you say to people who may feel that while you’re standing by your friend, it appears you gave validation or safe haven to something that he has uttered that is racist, even if you don’t agree?”

Osbourne Stands By Morgan – Refuses To Back Down

Osbourne continued to defend Piers, saying that she did not think he disliked Meghan for racial reasons.

The show went to commercial break, but the heated exchange revved back up as soon as the program returned.

Osbourne said, “I will ask you again Sheryl. I’ve been asking you during the break. I’m asking you again. And don’t try and cry because if anyone should be crying, it should be me.”

“This is the situation,” Osbourne continued. “You tell me where you have heard him say … educate me, tell me when you have heard me say racist things! Educate me, tell me!”

Underwood replied, “To not want to address that because she is a Black woman, and to try to dismiss it or to make it seem less than what it is, that’s what makes it racist. But right now, I’m talking to a woman who I believe is my friend and I don’t want anybody here to watch this and think we are attacking you for being racist.”

“I think it’s too late. I think that seed is already sown,” Osbourne fired back.

Piers Morgan Responds

Later in the day, Morgan took to Twitter to thank Osbourne for standing by him.

“When stuff like this happens, true friends run towards you, fake friends run away. I love Sharon Osbourne because she always stays true to herself,” he tweeted. “She knew she would get abused by the woke brigade for tweeting this – but did it anyway because it what she believes.”

A source told Entertainment Tonight that after Wednesday’s show, the co-hosts got together for a closed-door meeting to discuss what happened. But, nothing got resolved.

Osbourne showed the world what a true and loyal friend she is by standing by Piers Morgan in the face of a hateful cancel culture mob.

We should all be so lucky as to have a friend like her in our lives!
