Jon Moxley Says AEW And The WWE Will NEVER Work Together

The best wrestler of 2020 Jon Moxley famously said this week that AEW and the WWE will never work together. And the wrestler seems to have some personal motives behind the statement.

‘That Would Never Happen’

During his interview with Inside the Ropes, Moxley made it clear that a cooperation between AEW and the WWE will never happen. In fact, he states nobody should waste their mental energy on it.

For Moxley, AEW and the WWE working together is pretty much a fantasy booking.

“You know, maybe you could fantasy book it for, like, fun magazine, stuff. You know, Like back in the day, in magazines, you used to always have, like, ‘Dream match. Bill Goldberg versus Steve Austin,’ in ’98. But that ain’t gonna happen.”

“It’d be cool to think about the cool s**t that could happen, you know, like a big summit at the Tokyo Dome, AEW, NJPW, WWE or some s**t but that s**t ain’t going to happen. So, you know, they do their thing. They stay over there.”

Of course, Moxley has his personal reasons for not wanting this cooperation to happen. After all, the wrestler was deeply unhappy while working for the WWE as a ‘sports entertainer.’

Fortunately, Moxley has thrived since he left the WWE. In fact, he was named as the best wrestler of 2020 by numerous media channels.

Leaving the WWE is the best thing that ever happened to Jon Moxley. So, it is no surprise that the wrestler does not want to work with his former employer and jump down that rabbit hole again.

Omega And Khan Are Willing

Jon Moxley may not believe there is any chance that the WWE and AEW will work together, but not everyone shares his opinion. In fact, both Kenny Omega and Tony Khan are open to future cooperation.

But as you could read between the lines in Moxley’s statement, the ball is pretty much in the WWE’s camp at the moment. Of course, Vince McMahon is not likely to consider cooperation with promotions outside his precious WWE.

So, much like Jon Moxley says, it will pretty much stay at fantasy bookings for now. But while this cooperation is not going to happen, we still have some fun stuff to look forward to.

One of the amazing things we can look forward to is a match between Jon Moxley and current AEW Champion Kenny Omega. Of course, Moxley is out for revenge ever since Omega ‘stole’ the title from him.

The match between Jon Moxley and Kenny Omega is not going to be a normal match either. During an episode of AEW Dynamite, it was announced the pair will have an ‘exploring barbed wire deathmatch.’

Both Moxley and Omega have shot some amazing promos to promote their upcoming match. Despite all the promos that have been released, we still have no idea what to expect.

Of course, Moxley did mention words such as ‘fire’ and ‘burns,’ so we are sure it will be an intense one. And for this match, no cooperation between the WWE and AEW is required.
