Keith Lee & More Sent Back To PC, Original Kenny Omega – AEW Idea

Vince McMahon is not happy, resulting in Keith Lee and others being sent back to the Performance Center (PC). Also, Kenny Omega’s heel turn and title win was not the original idea AEW had in mind.

Keith Lee & More Sent Back To PC

All has not been calm within WWE lately. Apparently, Vince McMahon threw a fit about certain members of the roster.

In particular, McMahon was unhappy with many of big guy type wrestlers. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted how he is sending many names back to the Performance Center.

While there, they will work with WWE Producer Adam Pearce and RAW Superstar Drew Gulak. Currently, the group is training twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays until McMahon is happy.

Those sent to improve their skills are Keith Lee, Otis, Dabba-Kato, Dio Maddin and Omos. The names listed do have people questioning the decision.

Keith Lee was a popular name on the Indy scene. He landed in NXT and briefly held the World Championship before being sent to RAW.

There have been reports of Lee getting a major push. One report mentioned Lee taking on Drew McIntyre and Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 37 in a triple threat.

As for the other superstars, you can see why a decision was made. Dabba-Kato was drafted to RAW, but has not been seen since RAW Underground ended.

Otis was set for a major push, before it was scratched a few months back. He lost his push, tag team partner and Money in the Bank contract within one night.

Per Paul Heyman, Dio Maddin debuted on RAW at the announce table before plans changed. Currently, he is one of the Retribution members.

Omos serves as the bodyguard for AJ Styles and was the bouncer for RAW Underground. There were already reports how he needed work before wrestling on WWE TV.

Original Kenny Omega – AEW Idea

At Winter is Coming, Jon Moxley’s undefeated singles run in AEW came to an end. At the same time, so did his reign as AEW World Champion.

The conclusion saw Impact Wrestling’s Don Callis help Kenny Omega win the title. In the process, Omega turned heel.

In the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, they discussed how this was not the original plan. AEW started to put the angle together last year, when Omega and “Hangman” Adam Page were a team.

The idea was for Page to turn on Omega and be the company’s top heel. But, the crowd’s reaction to the duo made AEW change course.

Instead, Omega and Page had a lengthy run as tag champions. After being defeated by FTR, they went their separate ways.

The angle was supposed to be done earlier, but COVID caused a delay.

As for the future, Omega will continue to appear for Impact Wrestling and likely challenge for their World Championship. With the cleaner gimmick back, fans could see Omega work for several promotions and collect a bunch of gold.

Whatever is decided, the angle is working. Viewership for AEW and Impact Wrestling this week drew huge numbers.
