There are a lot of rumors about Kamala Harris flying around these days, but at least one of them has the photos to prove it as well as confirmation it’s true: she used to date talk show host Montel Williams. 

Pictures of the couple have been getting a lot of traction on social media because of the shock factor. They dated in 2001 following Montel’s 2000 divorce. 

Montel Williams Admits Relationship With Kamala Harris

Last year the talk show host confirmed on Twitter that he and Kamala used to be an item.

At the time, he was a household staple as the Daytime Emmy Award winning host of his eponymous talk show, “The Montel Williams Show”.

In his tweet, Montel pondered if people were only interested in Kamala’s past relationships because she is a woman.

But, that’s not really the case because Donald Trump’s relationships are often talked about. 

“@KamalaHarris and I briefly dated about 20 years ago when we were both single. So what?” Montel tweeted in 2019. “I have great respect for Sen. Harris. I have to wonder if the same stories about her dating history would have been written if she were a male candidate?”

Pictures of Kamala wearing a very low cut dress while out with Montel Williams in 2001 is evidence that the two certainly were an item.

The couple were photographed attending the Race to Erase Multiple Sclerosis Gala.

Of course, the relationship did not last. 

Why Did Montel Williams And Kamala Harris Break Up?

Neither Montel nor Kamala has commented on why the romance fizzled out.

What do we know: Montel is a proponent of legalizing marijuana while Kamala was working at Office of the City Attorney of San Francisco.

At the time, Kamala was known for her aggressive prosecutions of Black men on drug charges. Just imagine how those conversations went between this couple from very different worlds.

Montel is also a gun owner. That is unlikely to have sat well with the left leaning California Senator. 

He is also a proud Veteran and an active Veterans advocate. Montel Williams enlisted and served in the United States Marines Corp. 

Outstanding Daytime Talk Show Host isn’t his only award, Montel earned various service service awards during his enlistment including the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy Commendation Medal, and the Navy Achievement Medal.

Perhaps political differences contributed to their demise as a couple. 

While this unlikely pair did not end up together, both did eventually find love.

Kamala Harris married Doug Emhoff in 2014 while Montel Williams tied the knot with Tara Fowler in 2007.
