Survivor Series is behind us, which brings us to another RAW in a Nutshell. This time around, here’s what we ponder: up next, fun with TLC!
As in, we have but one final PPV left in the insane year that was 2020. That PPV would be December’s Tables, Ladders and Chairs.
Sunday gave us an interesting Survivor Series. The main event, or attraction really, was The Undertaker’s final farewell.
That happened with a good deal of pomp and circumstance, as we’d expect. There was more in terms of actual wrestling, of course.
We did get some good matches, as well as some duds. All in all, not a whole lot truly notable or worth worrying too much about.
Which is why I can say up next is fun with TLC. Who doesn’t like tables, ladders and chairs?
I mean, I don’t know about you, but I hear tables and I immediately think of Lana and how many tables she’s gone through lately. Surely that comes into play?
In any case…
Let’s crack open this Nutshell and find out just how much fun.
Flip a coin here. I liked both the tag title match, as well as Riddle versus Sheamus.
Honestly, I expected a title change here. The Hurt Business has seemed so close to the gold, I really thought this week was it.
It was not, so I am wondering when it will be their time…or even if.
Riddle and Sheamus was the best singles match of the evening. Simple as that.
Lana and Asuka. The upside here?
It was short, and it turned into a women’s tag match with Asuka teaming with Lana.
That duo battled the Women’s Tag Team Champions and scored a bit of an upset. Now, does that same duo get an actual title shot at TLC?
None really shined, but I will take Riddle here.
Looking at the title picture, I’d bet AJ or Keith Lee gets a shot at Drew McIntyre next. However, it’s fun to imagine what Riddle can and will do, once he gets his shot.
Honestly, not much worth talking about here.
Kind of felt like a jobber free evening…until I remembered the opening segment.
So, Adam Pearce, congratulations!
Honorable mention to Bray Wyatt’s frog friend.
It’ may be a slight reach, but Asuka and Lana defeating Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler is my pick.
I think having Braun Strowman deck Adam Pearce is my choice here.
That was designed to get a reaction, but the reality is…I don’t know if Strowman destroying Pearce is enough to convince fans he’s a heel.
Not a botch, but watching Lana work is mildly troubling. Either how she works is an act, or she’s really not that fluid in the ring at times.
Like, she had some good moments, but then she has some bad ones.
Riddle, channeling his inner Spicoli, talking to MVP about a bro-gurt business opportunity.
Has to be seen for full impact, but it did make me chuckle.
Our triple threat lineup is set. Keith Lee, Riddle and AJ Styles will fight next week in order to determine the next #1 contender.
Barring a last minute change, that winner faces Drew McIntyre at December’s TLC PPV.
Also, Orton is clearly out of the title picture now. He lost his shot to become #1 contender next week, and part of why was Bray Wyatt’s efforts.
Seems like we know what Orton is doing next…
Maybe it’s me, but for whatever reason, Lana just wasn’t impressing me tonight.
That isn’t much of a lowlight, I admit that…but it’s what I have.
I am enjoying that we are getting some strong tag team matches, especially relevant ones with the titles on the line.
I like that two of the three options to face Drew would effectively be new to a WWE Championship match. Which means it will likely be AJ going over (I kid, but that seems to be how Vince runs things).
While I came into this show eying the next fun we get with TLC, WWE is giving us a slower burn.
I’ve said I’d bet dollars to donuts that Lana is involved in a tables match. That is just too easy, and now I’d be it’s a tag title match.
There will be others, but for now, we wait and find out another day.
