Netflix is standing with “Cuties” after being indicted by a Texas grand jury. The streaming giant has caused an uproar with allegations of promoting or normalizing pedophilia with this atrocious movie about 11-year-old children. However, Netflix claims it is all a misunderstanding.
“Cuties” centers around girls in a twerking dance group. They dress scantily and dance even more inappropriately. There was such outrage over the movie’s trailer that a boycott of Netflix was launched.

“Cuties” Sexualizes Children and Normalizes Pedophilia
After more clips surfaced and the movie was released, it seemed to many that legal action was needed. There is a strong trend recently toward the sexualization of children and “Cuties” is helping to fuel that fire.

Tyler County D.A. Lucas Babin served Netflix with a summons on October 1st. The charge is a state felony. The indictment charges that Netflix did “knowingly promote visual material which depicts the lewd exhibition of the genitals or pubic area of a clothed or partially clothed child who was younger than 18 years of age at the time the visual material was created, which appeals to the prurient interest in sex, and has no serious, literary, artistic, political, or scientific value.”
Films like this one that hyper sexualize children is obviously an important priority to Netflix and they will not bend to pressure and remove “Cuties” from their platform.

A Netflix spokesperson said, “Cuties“ is a social commentary against the sexualization of young children. This charge is without merit and we stand by the film.”
Netflix fails to recognize that even if the intention of the movie is against pedophilia, the manner in which these pre-teen girls have been displayed and marketed is a pedophile’s dream come true.

They have barely dressed girls showing off their bodies against the wishes of their parents. That’s what pedophiles want. In addition, any child seeing this might feel this is acceptable.
Check out the video in the tweet below to better understand how inappropriate, and possibly illegal, this film is.

Texas will not allow Hollywood to take aim at children. Don’t mess with kids is the message Netflix needs to hear. Thankfully, Texas is delivering that.
