Huge Lana Push Proposed, Bret Hart Loses $15 Million

In spite of some recent jobbing, it appears as though a huge Lana push was proposed. Plus, Bret Hart has reportedly lost millions due to his career being cut short.

Huge Lana Push Proposed

In a bit of news that I’d file under “so crazy it must be true”, a huge Lana push has been proposed.

Yes, you are reading that correctly.

If you’ve been watching RAW lately, that might seem impossible. After all, Lana has been put through the announce table several weeks in a row.

Initially, the popular opinion was that Lana was being punished because her husband, AEW’s Miro (formerly Rusev), had signed with the competition.

According to the Wrestling Observer, that is not the case at all.

As the report explains, while Lana has been put through quite a few tables, there was other logic in mind.

First, the creative team wanted to make Women’s Tag Team Champions Shayna Baszler and Nia Jax look very strong.

Second, and most recently, the belief is that these events will help build sympathy for Lana…allowing WWE to turn her into a huge babyface.

This would be an interesting turn of events for Lana. She recently earned a title shot against Asuka, and based on social media interaction, Asuka is being positioned more as a bully than a face.

Are you buying Lana as a big babyface?

My hope is she has, and will continue to, improve as a wrestler. WWE knows she’s a very big personality on social media, but fans lately have preferred women who can go in the ring.

Bret Hart Loses $15 Million

WWE Hall Of Famer Bret Hart has been outspoken about wrestlers he likes or dislikes, and one of those he doesn’t care for is Bill Goldberg. Bret Hart claims he has lost millions, and blames that on Goldberg.

Specifically, Bret Hart believes that a concussion, caused by a bad kick delivered by Goldberg while both men worked for WCW, cost him at least $15 million.

Hart has vented about Goldberg several times in the recent past. As big a star as Goldberg was, Hart felt his work was sub-standard.

It was that sub-standard work that had Goldberg hit Hart with a kick that gave The Hitman a career-ending concussion.

Hart was further annoyed because, following the concussion, Goldberg never reached out to see how the WWE Hall of Famer was doing in his recovery.

While both Superstars are legends and Hall of Famers, it’s clear there is no love lost. It’s a safe bet they won’t be spending the holidays together any time soon.

John Deegan

Introduced to professional wrestling in the 1980's thanks to Superstars and Saturday Night's Main Event, John's passion for the medium was reborn thanks to ECW in the 90's. A former in-ring "talent" with a career 0-2 record, he finds it more rewarding, and far less painful, to write about wrestling now.
