Dolly Parton Stuns Fans: She’s In Talks To Pose For Playboy For Her 75th Birthday

Country music legend Dolly Parton shocked her fans this week by revealing that she’s apparently in talks to make a Playboy Magazine spread in celebration of her 75th birthday happen.

This comes over forty years after the “Jolene” singer last posed for the men’s magazine. Dolly Parton appeared on an iconic cover of Playboy’s October 1978 issue wearing a black bunny suit.

Dolly Parton Wants To Pose for Playboy – Again – At 75

While appearing on the “Scott Mills and Chris Stark” show, the 74 year-old legend expressed hopes to celebrate her 75th birthday in January by posing for Playboy again.

What’s more interesting – this idea she brought up months ago seems to be in the works. Dolly describes a repeat Playboy appearance as being “talked about”.

“Yeah, I just might do it, if I can do it in good taste and they want it [and] we’ll do it along with a really good interview inside,” Parton said, according to Daily Mail. “So, yeah, we’ve talked about it.”

Dolly Parton Decided To Pursue Birthday Playboy Shoot Months Ago

Celebrating this landmark birthday by posing for Playboy has been on Parton’s mind for quite some time.

Earlier this year, she discussed the possibility of doing this in an interview with “60 Minutes Australia” back in March.

“Well, I don’t plan to retire. I just turned 74 and I plan to be on the cover of Playboy magazine again,” Parton told “60 Minutes Australia,” the “Jolene” singer said. “I did Playboy magazine years ago. I thought it would be such a hoot if they’ll go for it — I don’t know if they will — if I can be on the cover again when I am 75…”

When asked if she planned to “whip out the same outfit” that she wore in 1978 for the shoot, Parton replied, “Maybe, I could probably use it. Boobs are still the same.”

Since this interview, it appears that Dolly has stuck to her guns on this, if she’s now actually in talks with Playboy to make the special shoot happen!

 Age Is Only A Number

In her latest interview with the “Scott Mills and Chris Stark” show, the country legend made it clear that she’s still just as busy as ever. And Dolly has no plans to slow down anytime soon.

When asked if it’s true that she wakes up “every day at 3 a.m. to start working,” the country music icon responded, “I’m a very early riser.”

“I’ve always done that. Even if I go to bed late, I just seem to wake up at 3 a.m.,” Parton explained. “I do some of my best work in the morning between 3 a.m. and 7 a.m. I don’t sleep my life away.”

We applaud Parton for continuing to show the world every day that age really is just a number. She repeatedly shows that you can keep working hard well into your 70s, if that’s what makes you happy.

Should the Playboy shoot happen for her 75th birthday, we have no doubt that Dolly Parton will show women that they can still be beautiful at any age.

James Conrad’s passion for politics is only overshadowed by his longstanding interest in Hollywood. His unique perspective as a gay conservative fuels him to challenge celebrity views and those who think they have a right to tell anyone how to think or vote. James proudly wields his minority point of view to combat identity politics and cut through his typecast. Fun fact: James’ guilty pleasure is the British royal family.
