Kate Middleton Queen royal family pandemic

Sources say Kate Middleton has stepped up in a big way for her grandmother-in-law Queen Elizabeth, serving as the monarch’s “rock” during the coronavirus pandemic.

A source close to the royals told US Weekly that during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Queen has learned that she can count on Kate to ensure that things are running smoothly at Kensington Palace.

The Queen Can Count On Kate Middleton

“These are strange times for everyone, senior royals included, and having Kate as her rock has made it so much easier for the queen to adapt to her new life at Windsor,” the source said. “More than anything, knowing she can rely on Kate and Prince William to handle matters in her absence is the greatest comfort she could ask for.”

The insider went on to say that Kate, 38, is not afraid to go to the 94 year-old Queen for advice.

“Her Majesty sees the Cambridges as the future of the monarchy and trusts Kate and William’s judgment implicitly,” the source explained. “Kate asks for advice about speeches she’s due to make, whom she can depend on most within the palace and protocol dos and don’ts. The queen’s more than happy to impart her wisdom — she’s proud to be Catherine’s go-to adviser about royal life.”

Prince William Is Impressed As Well

The Queen isn’t the only royal who has been impressed by Kate, as her husband Prince William, 38, has taken notice as well.

“He’s relieved to have Kate to depend on and refers to her as his better half,” the insider said. “Their approach to everything is similar — they embody that ‘Keep calm and carry on’ mentality, choosing to focus on positives when things get tough.”

William and Kate met back in 2001 while attending the University of St. Andrews, and they went on to get married in 2011. Since then, they have had three children together: sons Prince George, 7, and Prince Louis, 2, and daughter Princess Charlotte, 5.

“Kate’s A Genius”

“Kate’s a genius at stepping back, breathing deeply and then approaching any difficulty with a level head,” the source concluded.

Clearly, Kate Middleton has made quite an impression on both Queen Elizabeth and her husband. She’s clearly a strong, capable, and caring woman who represents the monarchy well.

This is a far cry from the Queen’s other granddaughter-in-law, Meghan Markle. Who not only distanced herself from the royal family but is also unabashedly involving herself in party politics.
