Meghan Markle Gets Political: Teams Up With Michelle Obama To Register Voters

Months after stepping down as a senior member of the British royal family, Meghan Markle is breaking one of the Queen’s most steadfast rules. Meghan is jumping head first into politics. And the Duchess is not hiding her personal politics. Meghan Markle is teaming up with former First Lady Michelle Obama to get out the vote.

Meghan Markle Teams Up With Michelle Obama

Forbes reported that Meghan is set to join a virtual voter registration event held by Obama’s organization, When We All Vote. Their goal is to reach 300,000 voters.

Also participating in this fundraiser will be former White House senior advisor Valerie Jarrett, Glamour magazine editor Samantha Barry, and actress Yvette Nicole Brown.

Though Obama has long claimed that When We All Vote is non-partisan, it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out that her true goal is to register liberal voters rather than conservative ones.

This is also shown by the initiatives that the organization supports, which include mail-in-voting.

Meghan Markle Pushes Voting

This isn’t the first time the Duchess has made her political zeal known. Meghan recently participated in an interview with Marie Claire calling for people to get out and vote.

“I know what it’s like to have a voice, and also what it’s like to feel voiceless,” Meghan said. “I also know that so many men and women have put their lives on the line for us to be heard. And that opportunity, that fundamental right, is in our ability to exercise our right to vote and to make all of our voices heard.”

The fact that Meghan Markle is teaming up with Michelle Obama shows once again that the former “Suits” actress not only intends to get political, but also desires to become a fixture of the so-called “woke” left.

She and Harry may no longer be senior royals, but as members of that family, the Queen must still prefer that they keep their political opinions private.

The Queen has spent decades carefully ensuring that the royal family stays politically neutral at all times. So she can’t be happy that her granddaughter-in-law is teaming up with an Obama for a political event. 

Michelle Obama’s DNC Speech

The timing of this announcement could not be worse if the Royals wish to keep Meghan’s politics under the radar.

Michelle Obama is currently all over the headline after giving her speech at the Democratic National Convention in which she blasted President Donald Trump and Republicans.

Not surprisingly, the speech was quite popular on the Left. But it wasn’t all puppy dogs and rainbows. 

“They see our leaders labeling fellow citizens enemies of the state while emboldening torch-bearing white supremacists,” Michelle said. “They watch in horror as children are torn from their families and thrown into cages, and pepper spray and rubber bullets are used on peaceful protestors for a photo-op.”

Her words are a far cry from the neutral stance the Royals strive to maintain . Those are words designed to enflame. And they have have lit a spark in Meghan.

So I guess it’s the Meghan Markle and Michelle Obama show. The Queen must be thrilled.
