Dominik Mysterio Wrestling In A Mask?, CM Punk – UFC Return

If Rey Mysterio had a say, his son Dominik would sport a mask and even change his wrestling name. Also, CM Punk remains in USADA testing, so he could technically fight again.

Dominik Mysterio Wrestling In A Mask?

Former WWE champion Rey Mysterio has some mighty high expectations for his son, Dominik.

This coming weekend, Dominik faces Seth Rollins in one of the featured matches at WWE SummerSlam. The match will be contested as a “street fight.”

While we have already seen the younger Mysterio’s face, his father would like nothing more than for him to take on a mask in the near future.

“We actually talked about it,” Mysterio told Sports Illustrated. “He definitely has to continue with the Mysterio dynasty. It’s in his genes.”

Rey Mysterio has used a mask for the majority of his career, just like many other Mexican Lucha Libre wrestlers.

“I think we’re going to incorporate that eventually and create a good story so the fans can understand the rich history behind Lucha Libre and the masks,” Mysterio said. “I’ve always wanted to wear a mask mainly because of tradition. It’s important to keep that tradition going.”

During a part of his career in WCW, Mysterio lost his mask in a match with Kevin Nash.

“Now with my face being out there, I think it would just have to be introduced a little bit differently so people understand,” he said. “I definitely want to wear one, but it has to be introduced properly.”

Mysterio’s name and likeness was passed down from his uncle, Rey Mysterio Sr. Dominik could become Prince Mysterio if the WWE elects to go that direction.

The 45-year-old Mysterio is a former two-time WWE heavyweight champion and one-time WWE champion. He claimed the 2006 Royal Rumble and has also held the cruiserweight, Intercontinental, United States and tag team belts.

Mysterio became the 21st triple crown and grand slam champion in WWE history.

CM Punk – UFC Return

While unlikely to ever step foot inside the UFC’s Octagon again, CM Punk is keeping up with his USADA testing.

According to TSN reporter Aaron Bronsteter, Punk has submitted several samples to the testing program in 2020.

“Based on the most recent USADA testing history update, USADA has not tested Conor McGregor since January,” Bronsteter reported, “and CM Punk has submitted more samples than four UFC champions, three of whom have competed in 2020.”

Punk made his MMA debut back in 2016, falling to Mickey Gall. He competed again two years later, suffering a loss to Mike Jackson.

At that time, Dana White said Punk was likely done fighting for the UFC.

Reports have stated that he continues to train at Roufusport in Milwaukee, which is home to former UFC champion Anthony Pettis.

Punk began working with Cage Fury Fighting Championships as part of the announce team in 2018.

The 41-year-old held the WWE heavyweight title three times, the WWE championship twice and the ECW belt once. He is a two-time Money in the Bank winner and became the 19th triple crown champion.
