John Cena Grants Make-A-Wish

While he is off WWE television, John Cena continues to make dreams come true.

Cena presented an early birthday present to a seven-year-old boy with a life-threatening illness recently, according to the New York Post.

The former WWE champion and box office superstar put on his neon green WWE outfit with added gloves and a mask to surprise Tampa, Florida’s David Castle. Castle is battling Wilms tumor, a childhood cancer that starts in the kidney region.

During his time with the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Cena has granted more wishes than anyone else involved with the foundation.

While not one to promote his own moments with Make-A-Wish, Cena did offer the foundation a thank you for “their incredible milestone of 40 years of granting wishes.”

With the roster trimmed down, the WWE needed superstars to step into new and bigger roles.

Apollo Crews was doing just that, and despite being “injured” in a storyline, it appears the promotion has bigger things in store.

According to a report by WrestlingNews.co, Crews will return as a heel with a sizable push in store for him.

““I was told that people backstage have been trying to convince Vince McMahon that more should be done with Apollo Crews and that is why he’s been given so much TV time in recent weeks,” the report states. “Furthermore, I was told that the plan is for him to turn heel.”

The report notes that there was talk of turning him from babyface to heel by attacking Chad Gable, but that was scrapped. Crews could also be given a manager, such as former WWE superstar MVP, to work with.

Crews, 32 years old, first signed with the WWE as part of NXT in 2014. He made his main roster debut two years later and has experienced mixed results.

While he has yet to capture WWE gold, Crews did earn a spot in the Money in the Bank ladder match and won a battle royal to earn a spot in a six-pack challenge to challenge for the WWE championship.
