WWE High On Star

WWE and Vince McMahon are high on a newer 2nd generation talent, and the name may surprise you. Also, who may be heading to AEW next?

WWE High On Star

WWE has it’s share of multi-generational Superstars. Now, Vince McMahon is high on another 2nd generation star.

That second generation Superstar isn’t a name you’re probably familiar with. They have already managed an appearance on WWE’s SmackDown, however.

The new second generation Superstar? His name is Cal Bloom.

If that name doesn’t exactly ring a bell, his father’s in-ring name may. Bloom is the son of former WWE tag team wrestler Beau Beverly.

Cal Bloom had himself a match on a recent Friday against former WWE Champion Sheamus. As far as debuts go, it was a forgettable loss, but that doesn’t matter in the grand scheme of things.

WWE High On Star

According to Wrestling News, many in WWE are high on Bloom. Among his fans is none other than Vince McMahon.

Cal Bloom signed a developmental contract last year. Before that, he was a star on the University of Central Florida’s football team.

Clearly Bloom is a gifted and talented athlete. In terms of what WWE sees for his future?

It could be a very bright one, to say the least. According to the source, they view Bloom as a possible future main event star.

In terms of a Superstar whom they think Bloom is similar to, they have a very big name in mind. According to the report, the feeling is that Bloom could blossom into a Superstar not unlike Edge.

To be viewed as similar to a former champion and WWE Hall of Famer is big. Hopefully, the young talent has a chance to meet or exceed expectations.

Released Superstar Headed To AEW?

Not that long ago, WWE cut a significant number of Superstars. It wasn’t long after that speculation about released Superstars heading to AEW popped up.

Now, there seems to be at least something to that speculation. At least, when one particular former Superstar is concerned.

The Superstar may or may not surprise you. He had held several different WWE titles during his time with the company.

That Superstar is the man formerly known as Zack Ryder. Matt Cardona recently filed for a new trademark, and it’s the filing that has people connecting the dots between him and All Elite Wrestling.

Specifically, Cardona has filed for two different trademarks. One is for “Alwayz Ready”, and the other for “Internet Champion”.

Both filings were done through a lawyer used by other AEW talents, Michael Dockins. Dockins also recently handled the trademark filings for the former WWE tag team of The Revival (now known as The Revolt).

Now, the filing could be nothing other than Cardona protecting his own IP for use on his own. However, when you look at his filing, and all other filings through that same lawyer, things start adding up.

Add to that the fact that Cardona is friends with Cody Rhodes, and Rhodes had positive things to say about the former Intercontinental Champion upon his WWE release.

While nothing has been announced yet, it’s easy to see why people are expecting to see the Internet Champion in AEW soon.
