These Stars Defy Hollywood Norm To Issue Palm Sunday Blessings

Mark Wahlberg, Mario Lopez, and Patricia Heaton share how they celebrated Palm Sunday at home during the coronavirus pandemic.

Palm Sunday was different this year as we weren’t able to gather with our faith communities at Church. Instead, we gathered around our electronic devices for services to kick off Holy Week. While Hollywood is not known as a hotbed for religious people, there are some standouts who are proud of their faith and they shared Palm Sunday greetings and words of inspiration that Christians find in the holiest week of the year. Conservative stars like Lone Survivor‘s Mark Wahlberg, “Everybody Loves Raymond’s” Patricia Heaton, and “Saved By The Bell’s” Mario Lopez aren’t afraid to broadcast their Christian beliefs at this turbulent yet holy time.

Mark Wahlberg’s Palm Sunday Message

Mark Wahlberg shares Christ’s message not only with his fans but also with his Hollywood peers. He is not concerned about the peer pressures of Hollywood. He gets his strength through Jesus.

Wahlberg and his wife Rhea have four children who they are raising in the Catholic faith.

The actor is a daily Communicant, typically attending mass each day.

The stay at home orders have posed challenges for people like him whose lives are centered around going to church. But, the Wahlberg’s are persisting and doing their part during this pandemic.

He posted a video to Instagram after watching Palm Sunday mass.

“🙏❤️🙏HAPPY PALM SUNDAY🙏GOD BLESS❤️,” Wahlberg wrote to his followers. In his video below, he reminds people to hold onto their faith as it will make us all stronger.

“Happy Palm Sunday everybody.” Mark Wahlberg says. “Just thinking about everybody. We still have faith, we have each other, so let’s stay strong. God Bless you guys. Love you.”

Wahlberg’s wife, Rhea also said, “God bless you.”

Two years ago, Lopez was baptized in the Jordan River, the same place Jesus was baptized by John the Baptist.

On Palm Sunday, the “Saved By The Bell” star shared a picture on Instagram from his baptism and proclaimed, “Blessed is the King of Israel #Hosanna #PalmSunday #JordanRiver#Jesus”

If the “Extra” host can risk it all to boldly make Jesus famous, we all should do the same.

Patricia Heaton’s Holy Week Message

Since actress Patricia Heaton couldn’t go to church on Palm Sunday, she made do with what she had.

The “Carol’s Second Act” actress wanted a reminder of the day that she holds dear so she grabbed a palm from her garden and put it out as a visual reminder of this important Christian day.
