AEW Star May Need Surgery, Revival Pitched Crazy Gimmick (Photos)

AEW Star May Need Surgery

All Elite Wrestling (AEW) has been around for less than a year, but they are starting to make stars. To date, MJF is arguably the biggest name that did not come from WWE or New Japan Pro Wrestling.

Quickly, MJF become one of the top heels in AEW and many believe he could carry the company into the future. Although, he has been missing from TV as of late.

Due to COVID-19, AEW was forced to tape weeks if not months worth of TV. There is no word if they will use all that footage or when the promotion will resume daily operations.

Several wrestlers were missing from those tapings, including MJF. He hinted on social media that something happened, but did not provide details.

Now, MJF has revealed he suffered an injury and might require surgery. Also, he is apparently taking a break from social media.

AEW Star Being Groomed For A Major Push Before Possible Surgery

The first few months of AEW saw MJF quickly shine. As they prepared to debut on TNT, he was made a face.

MJF was paired with Cody, until he turned on him. That led to several months of build before we got Cody vs. MJF at Revolution.

After some dirty tactics, MJF secured the win and seemed close to getting a AEW World Championship shot. Since MJF did work the recent tapings, he might lose his spot towards the top of AEW’s weekly rankings.

Revival Pitched Crazy Gimmick (Photos)

The Revival were considered one of the best tag teams in NXT. Although, they were not correctly booked on the main roster.

That led to The Revival requesting their WWE release several times over the past 12 months. Eventually, WWE caved and let both superstars go.

The Revival had a gimmick about being tough guys that relied on their fists and not flips. Towards the end of their run, there were rumors of WWE wanting to make them a comedy duo.

Apparently, those rumors seem to be true as pictures leaked by Bodyslam showed what their attire would be. WWE literally were going to turn them into clowns as seen below.

Furthermore, The Revival can longer use that name as WWE owns the copyright. Also, they had to change their singles names.

As a team, they are now going by The Revolt. Individually, they have become Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood.

On Twitter, Harwood seemingly confirmed the report about the proposed gimmick change by WWE.

Joe Lisnow

The lineage of pro wrestling dates back centuries, tying the world together through the art of storytelling. After nearly 30 years of watching, now Joe has the chance to report the news about men and women competing inside a 20-foot by 20-foot ring.
