Ryback To AEW?

While still in their rookie year, All Elite Wrestling (AEW) continues to make progress. They have a roster of known names from WWE and other promotions, with a mix of of fresh faces.

Based on a recent tweet by Ryback, he could be looking to join AEW. As seen below, the tweet features an image of Ryback and Cody Rhodes in what appears to be an office decorated with a Christmas tree.

Ryback tried out for the $1 million edition of Tough Enough, lasting pretty far in the competition. Despite not winning, he was offered a developmental contract.

Fast-forward to 2010 and he would be part of the first season of NXT as Skip Sheffield. But, he did not last long after getting voted out in the first round. He would return as part of The Nexus, until being removed after breaking his ankle shortly after SummerSlam.

Then, he was repacked about 18 months later as Ryback. He would go on a lengthy winning streak, before losing to WWE Champion CM Punk. Eventually, he would turn back to a face and win the Intercontinental Championship.

In May 2016, Ryback got into a contract dispute with WWE and went home. He cited wanting better pay and more direction from creative as his reason for leaving. In August, Ryback was released by WWE.

Life For Ryback After WWE Release

To this day, Ryback is still upset with WWE and feels like he should be allowed to use the ring name they provided on the Indy scene. While he does compete on the Indy scene, Ryback has not stayed too active. Also, some superstars such as Punk have called Ryback unsafe inside the ring.

WWE’s The Revival Reportedly Getting A New Gimmick

Latest On The Revival Status + Ricochet Racy Video Leaked

Speaking of unhappy talent, The Revival are two superstars that have expressed their displeasure. Back in January, they requested their release, but were denied by WWE.

In the Wrestling Observe Newsletter, they mentioned how WWE plans on turning Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder into an embarrassing comedy duo. Last week, Wilder tripping during his entrance was the beginning of their new gimmick. On Friday’s SmackDown, they competed in a Miracle on 34th Street match. It was full of comedy spots and won by Heavy Machinery.

In NXT, The Revival were known for their no nonsense attitude. They were the first two-time tag team champions and delivered some great matches. Plus, they captured the RAW Tag Team Championship twice and were also one time SmackDown Tag Team Champions.

As a result, many believe The Revival will sign with AEW. Therefore, fans might want to keep an eye on AEW TV in 2020.

In conclusion, WWE might be toying with The Revival until their contracts expire.
