A Wisconsin high school is shuttering its gender neutral bathroom after a student was taken into custody for an alleged sexual assault inside the facility. This experiment in political correctness ended on a highly disturbing note.
Assault In The Gender Neutral Bathroom
18-year-old Austin Sauer, a senior at Rhinelander High School, was arrested for fourth-degree sexual assault, child enticement, and exposing his genitals to a child inside the facility.
Remarkably, Captain Terri Hook from the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office, stated that the school did not inform parents because it was an isolated incident and the offending students had been removed from the school.
Sauer was arrested on Saturday for the assault, which allegedly happened in the school’s gender neutral bathroom last Thursday. He was released on a $1,500 signature bond.
So far, the student, who is a legal adult, has not been charged with a crime. However, an investigation into the incident is ongoing.
Many parents across the country expressed concerned about the risk of this very type of event.
Opening bathrooms to everyone, especially in a school, gives access to perverts and criminals looking to prey on the vulnerable. And this unfortunate incident involves children, in their most vulnerable state.
Left wing activists championed the cause of gender neutral bathrooms as being “inclusive.” And this is an example of the cost. ‘Inclusivity’ at the expense of those who feel uncomfortable and those who become victims, like those in Sauer’s alleged assault.
Transgender Bathrooms
In some school districts, anyone claiming to be transgendered can have complete and unrestricted access to locker rooms where students shower after practices. There is no litmus test for determining who is actually is transgendered and who is faking it.
Even if there were a test, it would most certainly be deemed discriminatory or inaccurate. And so all of us – and our children – are at the mercy of self-reported gender.
Imagine your daughter showering after swim practice while a biological man is in the bathroom. This is what parents across the country are bracing for with the allowance of gender neutral bathrooms.

It’s not uncommon for assaults to take place in bathrooms. The statistics are out there. While inside, perpetrators know potential victims are at their most vulnerable.

In 2017, the conservative Family Research Council compiled a list of 21 incidents of men assaulting or violating women’s privacy in public bathrooms. The group warned that nondiscrimination laws that allow people to go into bathrooms based on their gender identity, rather than their birth sex, are giving sexual predators the opportunity to exploit the circumstances and commit voyeurism and sexual assault.

In this era, schools inform parents of all kinds of concerns and transgressions. It’s very telling that Rhinelander High School failed to mention this serious incident to parents.
Even if the offending student is gone, there is still the issue of dealing with the fallout among students and preventing it from happening again.
The school administration’s silence should be challenged.
