CBS Praises Garth And Trisha

CBS shared what inspired this charitable live concert event. After seeing that Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood garnered 5.2 million viewers for their Facebook Live broadcast of a “casual, at-home concert” last week, they knew this could be big.

“After we saw Garth and Trisha crash Facebook, we reached out to them about bringing this Studio G to a larger audience in a safe and exciting way,” said Jack Sussman, CBS’ executive VP for specials, music, and live events. “With Garth and Trisha coupled with the power of broadcast television, anything can happen, making this an event not to be missed.”

CBS described the special as “an intimate concert for viewers looking for the comfort and shared joy of music during this difficult time.”

Other Entertainers Step Up As Well

So many popular artists across music genres are stepping up to entertain fans and also help with coronavirus relief efforts.

Just last night, Elton John  hosted the iHeart Living Room Concert For America from his Los Angeles home. Many musicians participated with performances from their homes, including Alicia Keys, Camila Cabello, Tim McGraw, Mariah Carey, and even the Backstreet Boys.

We’re grateful to the celebrities choosing to use their platform for good during this time. And we appreciate those artists kind enough to keep us entertained while stuck home in quarantine.

One particularly memorable moment over the last week is country music star Brad Paisley’s emotional performance of the hymn “In The Garden”. The tears flow freely as the song hits all the right chords. In times of great uncertainty such as this pandemic, it’s good to see celebrities stepping up to do their part.

We should all be coming together right now to do whatever we can to save lives and rid the world of this horrifying virus forever.
