Edge And Randy Orton Match May Have Special Stipulation

The match between Edge and Randy Orton could be even more interesting than we imagined. While these legends facing each other in the ring is invigorating enough already, the WWE might be planning to add a special stipulation to their match for WrestleMania 36.

Stipulation To Be Announced

The Wrestling Observer was the first to come out with the news of a possible stipulation. While they were a little skimpy with the details, there could be a big reason for the stipulation.

WrestleMania 36 will have a stacked card. Two matches have been announced so far including Drew McIntyre versus Brock Lesnar and Charlotte Flair versus Rhea Ripley. Fans are looking forward to these already, so it is said that the stipulation will be added to make the match stand out more.

Let’s be honest though, this match does not need an additional stipulation. Edge has not been in single’s since he faced Alberto Del Rio at WrestleMania 27. In other words, this is a real treat for all fans already!

If rumor is to be believed, the WWE want to make the match between Edge and Randy Orton one of the most important. However, we still believe the main event spot will go to Drew McIntyre and Brock Lesnar.

What has happened so far between Edge and Randy Orton?

For those of you who are catching up, a lot has happened since Edge’s return. During the Royal Rumble, Edge eliminated his former tag team partner. The Viper would not take things lying down though. He returned on Raw and delivered some vicious chair attacks on Edge’s neck.

Tonight’s episode of Raw should be interesting. Last week, commentators mentioned that Beth Phoenix will give an injury status update for her husband on Raw. There are also consistent rumors that Edge will be returning to Raw after the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view. The latter has been confirmed by advertising material for the show.

Edge’s Future Appearances

Before Edge returned to the WWE, there was plenty of speculation about the contract he signed. It is widely believed that he received a veteran deal, which would make sense. In other words, Edge will not make appearances as frequently as other superstars.

A veteran deal for Edge does make sense. In fact, he deserves it more than anyone I can think of. If he were to wrestle full time, he would increase his chances of another career-ending neck injury or even worse. A lighter schedule reduces the chance of injuries, and that’s how it should be.

So, it is no surprise that we have not seen Edge for a while. Appearances in the future should also be a little few and far in between, but at least Edge is someone who adores the business. If you could choose anyone to receive a deal like this, it would be him.

That brings us back to the special stipulation though. Since Edge needs to be a little more protected, which special stipulation could they implement? Let’s hope it is not one that increases his chance of injury.
