UFC Finishing Out 2019 With Quite The Banger Of A Main Event

Frankie Edgar never quits, proving time and time again that he is one of the toughest fighters in all of mixed martial arts.

Chan Sung Jung has been given the nickname “The Korean Zombie.” So if that doesn’t just perfectly fit his persona inside the Octagon, I don’t know what to tell you.

So, just a few days before Christmas, the UFC is giving us quite the early present with Edgar vs. Jung this coming Saturday at UFC Fight Night 165.

The card takes place from the Sajik Arena in Busan, South Kora.

Jung was scheduled to meet Brian Ortega, but a knee injury scrapped Ortega from the bout. Edgar, who was set to meet Jung back in 2018, gladly took on the role of replacement.

This will be a fight for fans of all styles.

In Edgar we are getting one of the best to ever compete. A former lightweight champion and title contender in the featherweight division, “The Answer” was going to move down to bantamweight.

However, the chance to face off against “TKZ” was one he could not pass up.

Edgar will be looking to bounce back from a decision loss to Max Holloway for the UFC featherweight title this past July. It was his only other bout in 2019, with his last win coming in 2018 by decision over Cub Swanson.

Since facing Jose Aldo for the same title in 2016, Edgar is 3-2 overall with the other wins coming vs. Yair Rodriguez and Jeremy Stephens.

A South Korea native, Jung finished Renato Moicano in June for his first win since 2017. The fighter served a four-year military service after losing to Aldo in 2013, returning with a first round knockout of Dennis Bermudez.

In 2018, Jung lost to Yair Rodriguez via knockout with one second left in the fifth round.

Needless to say, this is a fight fans have been asking for for several years.
