Prince Philip Hospitalized Just Days Before Christmas

Prayers are needed for the Royal Family as patriarch Prince Philip has been admitted to the hospital just days before Christmas. Security was beefed up at Edward VII Hospital in London following his admittance.

Buckingham Palace released a statement explaining the situation regarding the health of 98-year-old Prince Philip, the monarchy’s longest consort.

A source stated that he was not rushed to the hospital, but actually walked in on his own.

“The Duke of Edinburgh traveled from Norfolk this morning to the King Edward VII Hospital in London for observation and treatment in relation to a pre-existing condition. The admission is a precautionary measure, on the advice of His Royal Highness’ Doctor,” the statement read.

Queen Elizabeth Leaves For Sandringham 

While Philip is recuperating in a London hospital, Queen Elizabeth went to Sandringham on Friday where she will stay to celebrate Christmas.

At least outwardly, it does not appear there is much concern from the family regarding the Duke’s health issue which is caused by a “pre-existing condition.” Christmas activities are carrying on as normal as he is laid up in a hospital bed.

Prince Philip has been married to the Queen for 72 years. As Duke of Edinburgh, Philip was active in his Royal duties until two years ago when he officially retired.

Last April Philip was hospitalized for a hip surgery. At the beginning of this year, Philip was involved in a car accident and decided to relinquish his driver’s license afterwards.

He has lived a very lively and productive life into his late nineties. The Queen and Duke’s marriage is highlighted in the video below.

Prince Philip’s Stress Level

Meanwhile, it has been a bit of a time of tension for the Royal Family. Family tension escalated after Prince Andrew’s friendship with convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein was exposed. Andrew is accused of having sex several years ago with a teenager that Epstein was trafficking at the time.

After a disastrous interview, Prince Andrew resigned from his Royal duties. His father, Prince Philip, reportedly told him to “take his punishment” regarding the nightmare he created for Epstein’s victim and the Royal Family. Andrew has brought embarrassment upon the Monarchy. This hasn’t sat well with his father who was reportedly furious and now finds himself in the hospital over Christmas.
