SmackDown In A Nutshell: Wild One In The Windy City

This is it folks! It’s the final SmackDown before one of the biggest Survivor Series events in recent memory. It’s going to be a wild one in the Windy City. If the prior two shows this week are going to be any indication of what to expect, then we should buckle up and enjoy the ride. There’s not much left to do except deliver the final rounds of hype, so let’s get ready and crack open this Nutshell!

Best Match of the night:

Personally, I liked the closing segment. Great (if not predictible) and it got everyone some face time before Sunday.

Worst match of the night:

No real match complaints…though things did get sloppy in a few matches, especially with a mix of talent from RAW, SmackDown, NXT and NXT UK. Everyone delivered and helped really sell the point that Sunday is a battle for brand supremacy.

In general, the crowd was into it, so you only hope that continues for the next couple evenings as well.

No way I can pick on one.

Spot of the Night:

Not in the ring, but how about DX and the NXT group coming to the ring from the backstage area, Jeep and all. Anyone who grew up watching them, or who has seen highlights, that was DX invading Norfolk all over again, albeit with more success.

Heath Slater, during the main event segment, had to run in and go after people with a kendo stick. That made me laugh.

Noteworthy Moment:

Another week, another new title

If the way things went on SmackDown can serve as an indication, then we should be in store for a couple excellent shows this weekend.

Overall lowlights:

That the invasion angle is about to die down and that has kept things interesting in recent weeks.

Overall, this one felt like the go home show for all prior shows, to be honest. The involvement of both RAW and NXT was expected, but still was well executed. I think closing it out with a mini DX reunion on the old Jeep as they lead in Team NXT was pretty cool.
