Meghan Markle Wants Her Taxpayer-Funded Royal Lifestyle To Be More “Fair”

.In a new documentary that aired on Sunday, Meghan Markle expresses her regrets about how “hard” life is for her as a royal. Prince Harry’s wife wants her multi-million dollar lifestyle funded by taxpayers to be more “fair”. The Duchess of Sussex seems almost regretful that she ignored friends who warned her about tabloids and live in the public eye.

Fox News reported that Meghan threw herself a massive pity party while being interviewed by Tom Bradby in ITV’s documentary “Harry & Meghan: An African Journey.”

In the interview, Meghan complained about the lack of privacy she receives as a royal as well as about the scrutiny of tabloids that cover her every move.

“I think the grass is always greener,” Meghan said.

“You have no idea. It’s really hard to understand what it’s like. I know what it seems like it should be, but it’s a very different thing.”

She went on to say that she had many conversations with her husband Prince Harry about all the negatives that come with being a public figure.

“I have said for a long time to H, that’s what I call him, ‘It’s not enough to just survive something,’” Meghan said.

“’That’s not the point of life. You have to thrive. You have got to feel happy.’ I really tried to adopt this British sensibility of a ‘stiff upper life.’ I really tried, but I think that what that does internally is probably really damaging.”

Dealing with some negative press seems like a small price to pay in return. But Meghan, instead, appears to feel very sorry for herself right now.

“I never thought that this would be easy, but I thought it would be fair,” Meghan whined. “And that’s the part that’s really hard to reconcile.”

Meghan then bizarrely claimed she couldn’t anticipate this kind of scrutiny when she agreed to marry Harry. Even though anyone with half a brain knows that marrying a royal comes with an increased level of interest from the media.

“In all fairness, I had no idea, which probably sounds difficult to understand and hear,” Meghan said. “But when I first met my now-husband, my friends were really happy because I was so happy, but my British friends said to me, ‘I’m sure he’s great but you shouldn’t do it because the British tabloids will destroy your life.’”

“And I, very naively — I’m American,” she continued. “We don’t have that there — [I said], ‘What are you talking about? That doesn’t make any sense. I’m not in any tabloids.’ I didn’t get it. So it’s been, yeah, it’s been complicated.”

Meghan Believes Media Is ‘Unfair’ To Her

In the end, it’s clearly what Meghan deems as “unfair” coverage that troubles her most.

“If things are fair, that completely tracks for me if things are fair,” Meghan said.

“If I do something wrong I’d be the first one to go, ‘Oh my gosh, I’m so sorry. I would never do that,’ but when people are saying things that are just untrue and they’re being told they’re untrue but they’re allowed to still say them, I don’t know anybody in the world who would feel that that’s OK. And that’s different than just scrutiny. That’s, what would you call that? That’s a different beast. It’s really a different beast.”

Fairness is an argument I expect to have with my teenager. Not a pity card I expect a member of the royal family to play.

Meghan knew exactly what she was signing up for when she married Harry.

In the end, having the press say mean things about you sometimes is part of the deal. Everyone knows tabloid scrutiny is the price you pay to  your lifestyle funded by the hardworking people of Britain.

If Meghan Markle is really having as hard a time as she describes in the documentary, perhaps she and her husband should stop living off British tax dollars and retreat out of the public eye in favor of living a private life.
