Fox-SmackDown Draft Coverage Plans

-We have previously reported on WrestleNewz that WWE has another WWE Draft lined up for next month.

While it has not been formally announced, the expectation is that we will see the draft actually begin on the second episode of SmackDown on Fox, and then it would move to RAW on the following Monday.

Part of the thinking on this is to ensure SmackDown is not seen as second fiddle, so that makes some sense. It’s probably worth wondering if there wasn’t also some negotiating with Fox wanting such a big event to debut on their new show.

As far as what Fox has planned for the SmackDown portion of the draft? Wrestling Observer is reporting that the network aims to cover the draft as though it would cover any legitimate sports league’s draft.

This could be rather interesting and make the first round of the draft more worth watching than usual (since often times, the drafts and shakeups have been a bit of a mess). It should also push USA to deliver a more cohesive portion of the draft for RAW, hopefully.

Former UFC and RAW Women’s Champion Rowdy Ronda Rousey has been quiet lately. We have not seen her since her WrestleMania loss, though there have been rumors that she might show up in a few weeks when SmackDown debuts on Fox.

Recently, Rowdy Roddy Piper’s daughter, Teal Piper, commented on Rousey wearing Piper’s jacket and really adopting and carrying on the Rowdy moniker.
