CM Punk RAW Underground

CM Punk Possibly Working New WWE Show On Fox

CM Punk could be headed back to the wrestling business. During the Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted how Punk was at Fox Studios earlier in the week, trying out for a spot on a new show called WWE Backstage. The show will feature Renee Young, Booker T and other names that have not been confirmed.

Punk did some test with Renee and the belief is an offer will be made. It should be noted that Fox is running the show and not WWE. While Fox has shown interest in Punk, WWE might be able to talk the major network out of hiring “The Best in the World.”

Last month, Punk took part in Starrcast III, where he stated that he would speak to WWE’s Vince McMahon and Triple H if they called. Of course, Punk famously walked out of WWE over five years ago and has not officially competed in a wrestling ring since then.

Some think WWE would want Punk to sign just so that they can keep him away from All Elite Wrestling, who have shown interest in the past. Meltzer concluded that Punk might be willing to work for WWE again if he can get a deal similar to Brock Lesnar, Goldberg and The Undertaker.

WWE Backstage debuts November 5 and starts at 11 PM EST. It will air after SmackDown, which is moving to Fox this week.

NXT Champion Adam Cole Injured

NXT Champion Adam Cole is apparently suffering from a wrist injury. He has not wrestled in several weeks and was pulled from live events this weekend.

Fans saw Cole on NXT this week, when Matt Riddle trapped him  in an armbar. Those two are set to meet this Wednesday as all of the NXT titles are up for grabs. WWE is doing this to counter All Elite Wrestling’s first show on TNT.

Stay tuned for updates as WWE might need to change the marquee match for their big NXT show.
